Pairing cake with tea has long been a cultural features of Vietnamese cuisine.
So today let's celebrate mid-autumn festival with me enjoying the moonlight
with a sip of tea and a bite of mooncake for a full reunion. Mooncake nowadays
comes in very modern and beautiful packaging with many new flavor and
healthy natural ingredients. I will taste each mooncake flavor and recommend which
tea could be best paired with it. The first is savory mooncake with the aroma
of lime leaves, sesame oil combined with the rich taste of the nuts, the sweet and
crunchy taste of candy winter melon, the bold flavor of Char Siu and Chinese
sausage. A little bitter taste from the lime peel makes the mooncake really
flavorful. To accompany with this savory mooncake, oolong tea with a sweet taste
will be the perfect choice. The gentle and harmonious taste of oolong tea helps
balance the richness of the cake that just melts in the mouth. Next is green
tea mooncake with black sesame and salted egg fillings which I will pair
with artichoke tea for a very seductive scent. The mild, acrid taste of green tea
combined with the rich taste of black sesame seeds and salted eggs creates a
really attractive flavor. Black garlic mooncake is a special mooncake addition
with a distinct and delicious taste with lots of nutritional values. This one
combined with black tea is sure to be an interesting, mysterious pair. There is the
bitter taste of tea in the sweetness of the cake. There is a certification of the
mooncake in the purity of the tea. The fullness that people still wish for
during mid-autumn festival is the combination of sweetness and bitterness
in life, isn't it? Another classy mooncake is golden lotus paste. The seductive
sweetness of the lotus paste combined with the strong flavor from caramel
malt tea is a perfect choice. For mung bean and melon seed mooncake with salted
eggs, I will enjoy with fresh mint tea to improve glucose metabolism. The
softness of the mung bean paste combined with the crunchiness of melon seeds and
the creaminess of salted egg. Mmm, so good. Take a sip of the cool mint tea and
relax in the moonlight. If you are on a diet and still crave for a piece of
mooncake, this brown rice with mung bean paste and chia seed fillings is a
surprise gift for you. The miraculous use of chia seeds along with the vitamins
and minerals in red brown rice creates a really meaningful gift for health. Serve
with a famous Japanese Genmaicha with a particularly nutty flavor and weight
loss effect. The uplifting warmth from the tea in the middle of a full moon
night will sublimate the round mooncakes. Life has ups and downs to help people
experience more, going through incompleteness to fulfill themselves. On
this occasion, I wish you a very merry mid-autumn festival with bliss and
happiness for your whole family. See you in the next video. Thank you for watching.
Bye bye
