Welcome back to Bangkok.
We are staying in one of our favorite areas of the city.
Chinatown!
It's Molly from Vietnam!
You might notice I have a little different color hair.
Our first stop is a temple.
This temple was built in the 14th century.
It has the world's largest golden Buddha in that it has $250 million worth of gold leaf
on it.
This was really cool.
The marble and the sculptures are beautiful.
It does cost 40 baht to actually go inside and see the Buddha, but you can see him from
the outside too.
So the next place we're going is a temple that is inside a hospital.
And the statue is 900 years old.
Nice!
This statue is 900 years old.
They still use this area as a religious place to this day.
And if you look at the statue, it's very unique.
It's not like any of the other statues I've seen before.
It's sleek and beautiful.
And the face, definitely a must see.
I can't resist fried chicken.
This is really good fried chicken.
So good!
Now we're going to a street that supposedly has a lot of murals.
Are you guys coming with me?
No.
Oh.
Sorry.
We really hope that poor girl finds her tour group.
We offered to let her join us.
Coffee.
We've heard about this bus.
It's a dinner bus.
They cook the food and they drive around the city and you eat.
Molly picked lunch.
Well, let's not pretend this is the only food we're going to eat.
But our first stop, well, it's our second stop because we had chicken.
Alright, we're just going to eat a lot.
That's a beef broth.
That broth is tasty.
Maybe fish balls?
And then these white noodles, which are Chris's favorite.
It doesn't have any spice in it, but that is really good.
Tell your brother, this is for you.
Yeah, Tom, this is for you.
Ah!
So good!
Ooh, that's a good one.
So good.
That's a big thumbs up.
That makes sense.
We found it.
Sohaengtai Mansion has stood alongside Chao Phraya River for 230 years.
On the top of the main door lays the name of this mansion, Sohaengtai.
However, it is commonly known for locals as Ban Chao Su Son.
This villa is 170 years old.
The people that live here are the 8th generation.
And the gentleman teaches scuba diving lessons right in this pool.
This is neat.
Nowadays, this Chinese mansion opens as a cafe that allows visitors to appreciate its beauty,
along with a homemade drink.
This was a gem in the middle of the city.
The Italian sodas, those are the best sodas I've had, I have to say, anywhere.
This place is so much fun and beautiful.
Oh, whoops, can't use that word.
And fantastic.
The Romani chef said these are the best dumplings he's had in all of Bangkok.
That's a pretty bold statement because Gary eats everywhere.
So we're going to go try some pork ones.
The pork has lots of herbs in it, so it's very flavorful.
And the sweet sauce, these are, he's right, these are some of the best I've had.
Oh my god.
She's not wrong.
That's a good dumpling.
The Romani cook has not steered us wrong once.
We're headed to the most local market in all of Bangkok.
It's supposed to be the cheapest, but it also used to be a brothel and an opium den.
So I'm hoping that we'll get to see a little bit of the ancient heart of this market.
Welcome to the opium den.
And we're the three best friends that anybody could have.
We're going to do things all the time together.
Now we're heading out to China.
Oh, what did you do?
He said we're not allowed to sit here.
Oh.
Okay.
We got booted.
We took a little break for a nap and now we are heading out to wander the streets of Chinatown,
mainly Yawarat Road, looking for some delicious food.
It is raining a bit.
Not too bad at the moment.
We're hoping that we can get in here and still get some filming done,
but we're not going to sacrifice the camera.
So if you don't see anything else, it started raining harder.
Oh, that's fantastic.
The sauce.
Oh.
It did not stop absolutely dumping outside.
So we spun on inside to the duck restaurant that if you've been watching us for a few years,
you saw us eat at when we were in Thailand a few years ago.
And the duck is still fantastic.
That's really good duck.
Molly is supposedly the most expressive eater on the planet.
This is for you, Tom.
My brother.
That is so good.
That skin.
Wow.
Amazing.
We'll take her along to all of our taste testing.
Vroom, vroom.
I'm going to take you for a ride.
God save us all.
As you can tell, we're at the train station.
Chinatown was amazing.
We had such a good time.
Really glad we stayed right in Chinatown.
There was just amazing food everywhere.
We just wandered around and explored.
I couldn't have asked for a better time.
I had some camera stuff break.
None of my cheap stuff.
The genuine GoPro expensive stuff broke,
which I replaced with cheap stuff from the market.
So it'll probably last forever.
Next stop is a beautiful island in Thailand.
Yay.
Click the thumbs up and subscribe.
That was good.
