How to use the Video Effects in ZOOM | Mastering Zoom
Let's look at two ways to apply filters and effects in Zoom.
First: on the main page, go to the top right corner and click on the Settings icon, HERE. The configuration panel now is open.
On the left side, you can see the following menu. Click on the “Background and effects” option, HERE.
Once opened You will find a preview of your webcam and these 3 sections: Virtual backgrounds, “Video Filters” and “Avatars”
Video Filters
When you click on the “Video Filters” section, you will find a great variety of effects that you can add to your webcam, such as the change of tones in your image as you can see now. You can also add frames and other effects as you can see. Great!
Avatar
When You click on the “Avatars” section, you will find a wide variety of default avatars that will turn You into the character You have selected. Keep in mind that this is a beta version and it is possible that this section does not appear on some devices.
Studio Effects
Still, in the configuration panel go to the right side at the bottom where You will find another special and interesting section called Studio effects.
When you click here it will open a menu where you will find some effects that can improve your appearance. For example, let's change the eyebrows, and let's also add a beard or mustache. In the last option, we can change the color of the lips. This effect allows us to modify the opacity by sliding on this blue bar HERE. Great right?!
We can undo the changes we made just by clicking the reset button HERE
Now let's see how to do it when in a zoom meeting
To do this go to the bottom menu. Here you will find different icons; go to the left side and you will see the “video icon” Here. Click on the arrow and select the last option “Video Settings”. The configuration panel is now open. Now just follow the same steps we described in the first method.
This method also works if you do not have a personal zoom account.
Note: When you are in a current meeting keep in mind that the changes you make will actually appear on the screen.
What effect or studio effect will you use for your next zoom meeting?
0:00 - Preview
0:33 - Video Filters
