Hi guys! You are watching Oksy Vlogs. If this is your first time here and you would like to know
more information about life in Dubai, how to get a job in this city, keep watching this video.
I receive a lot of DMs, emails about how to move to Dubai, but unfortunately I can't respond to
all of you. So today I want to give you five the most important things you need to know
before moving to Dubai. Let's start with culture shock. I don't think you will have it because
Dubai is a multicultural city. It's quite westernized and it's not that conservative
as many other cities in the Middle East. You don't need to speak Arabic to live and work in Dubai.
Almost everyone speaks English there. You can find any type of cuisine, so you will not have
any issues with food. Alcohol is also available in Dubai, but you can get it only at the licensed
stores, bars and restaurants. Dubai is a very safe place to live. Some people even leave their cars
outside the shops open with the keys inside. And as you know, the weather in Dubai, especially
summer, can be extremely hot, but you have around eight months per year with absolutely perfect
weather. You can enjoy the beach, play outside, and I really love it. The job market in Dubai
is extremely competitive, so your chances to find a job from outside the UAE are quite low.
I advise you to get a visit visa, come to Dubai and start actively looking for a job.
As an option, you can start looking for a job from outside the UAE, but if you get invited for an
interview, be ready to fly to Dubai immediately. There are many opportunities in Dubai, but the
job search process can take a couple of months, so make sure that you have enough cash to survive
for at least three to four months when you come to Dubai. And the salaries in Dubai are still
tax-free, so everything you earn is yours. The next thing I want to mention that some people
spend half of their salaries on accommodation in Dubai, as it is quite expensive here. Some of us
used to pay for the accommodation on a monthly basis in our home countries, but here in Dubai,
you have to pay at least for three months in advance. So basically, it means you have to
provide the landlord or agent with four checks for the entire year. You cannot sign a rental
agreement if you don't have a resident visa and a checkbook, but if you come to Dubai just to look
for a job, you can rent a serviced furnished apartment and pay on a weekly or monthly basis,
but it will be a little bit more expensive. Before coming to Dubai, get your highest qualification
and marriage certificates attested in your home country, and when you come to Dubai, you should
submit them to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because when you find a job in Dubai,
your employer will ask you to provide those documents in order to arrange a resident visa
for you. Also, if your passport is about to expire, I advise you to renew it in your home country,
because it will take much more time and money to do the same in the UAE. The public transportation
system is not really developed in Dubai. There are bus, tram and metro systems. Taxes are comparatively
cheap, but still it's quite difficult to move around the city without your own car. So once
you move to Dubai, I highly advise you to rent a car. The driving licenses of some countries are
so you can use it until you get your resident visa. Once you get your resident visa, you can
just go to the Road and Transport Authority and apply for the local driving license. But if your
driving license is not recognized in the UAE, you need to take a test and pass the exam. So guys,
these were five main things you need to know before moving to Dubai. If you have any questions,
please better leave them in the comments below, because I don't have time to check all my emails
and DMs and respond to all of you. Thank you for watching and I will see you very soon. Bye-bye!
