Hey guys! Todays video is all about the schedule I try to stick to each week to keep my home clean and organized. I'd love to get YOUR input on what kinds of cleaning/organizing videos you'd like next so PLEASE drop a comment below and I'll get to filming these videos for you! Thank you ALL so much for following along on our journey! We are so grateful for you!!
We are a FUN and ADVENTUROUS family of 6 who lost our son to SIDS in 2014. Our biggest regret was not having family videos of him when he was here and is why we started doing daily vlogs!
Thomas is a 2X North American Champion in his kick-boxing career and Ashley is a network-marketing professional and speaker in her company.
Together we have 5 year old Identical twins- Simon & Cohen. Our son Miloh was born 12/12/13 and passed away 5/20/14. We were blessed with our Rainbow baby Ezrah this year on 03/02/17 and we have loved sharing our every day journey with our followers and are looking forward to where this journey takes us!
What is up guys? I'm coming at you this week with my weekly cleaning routine and I'm sharing the
schedule I try to stick to each week to keep my house spic and span. So starting with my Monday
routine. Mondays I like to have a fresh start and that's when I will wash all the blankets,
the sheets, pillowcases, just all the things we sleep on in our home. I always start with mine
since our blanket is the largest and usually needs a few hours of air drying, hence the reason it's
draped over our lovely banister. I also wanted to share a quick tip on how I get pillowcases on
without any problem. I'll turn the pillowcase inside out, pinch the bottom of the pillow
and that just kind of holds it in place. I actually found this out by mistake. I did that
on accident once and I've never gone back. I also go through all of our drawers and closets and just
grab anything that's not supposed to be in there. This just helps everything stay a little bit more
organized. Mondays I also give our fridge a good cleaning. I do this because on Mondays we go
grocery shopping and I like to just double check to know what we need. I also give it a little wipe
down. At least once a month I will give our fridge a good deep clean. So speaking of that, if you guys
are interested in seeing a monthly cleaning routine like what I do only once a month, just
let me know in the comments and I'd love to get a video out for you. While you're sitting here just
watching me clean, I want to let you know I did my full, this is just a five day routine, so Monday
through Friday, but I did it all within a two-day period. So if you're wondering why I'm wearing the
same thing for most of the video, that is why. I wanted to get this out fast and so I figured I
would just hurry up and get it done. Moving on to Tuesday, we are in the bathroom. This is when I do
every bathroom in the house. We have three bathrooms. I'm only going to show you this one
because you get the point. I always make sure to get really good around the toilets. I have
a bunch of boys in my house and little boys are not the cleanest, so I have to do this every week.
Moving on to cleaning the bathtub, I do this at least once a week. All of us love baths. That's
the only way we shower, I guess. We all take baths. We love them. So I do give the bath a good deep
clean at least once a week. And then, of course, cleaning the sink. I do this a few times a week.
Anytime it looks a little bit grungy, I will just give it a good wipe down. I'm using the
Mrs. Meyers All-Purpose Cleaner, but I will say lavender is my favorite scent. Whatever this scent
is, this green one is not my favorite. But the good thing is, after a few minutes, the smell
goes away completely. Whereas I feel like the lavender kind of lingers, but I do like that about
that. I also stock up all my supplies. I'll wash my rugs, give it a good sweep, and mop.
Empty out the trash. That's just about it.
It's Wednesday now, and this is a day I dedicate to my kitchen. I'll usually start by wiping down
all the cabinets and hardware. Then I'll go through the cupboards and drawers and remove
any items that don't belong. Keeping up with clutter is the quickest way to ever avoid
junk drawers or cabinets. I'm also finally getting rid of all these extra plates we no longer use.
If you watched my dollar store video uploaded this past week, you'll see we are obsessed with
the big square plates that have little compartments for a variety of food. So these
plates just really don't serve a purpose to us anymore. Moving on to cleaning the appliances,
I do give our stove a good wipe down weekly. But today it really needed a good scrub,
which again is something I typically only do monthly if I'm being honest. But I figured I'd
share with you guys how I give my stove a good cleaning. I'll fill the sink up with hot water
and just some Dawn soap, so really any kind of dish soap works. And then I'll let it sit there
for about an hour. Next I'll give our sink a good scrub, and then I'll put the stove top back
together. The last thing I do is sweep, and then we use the wood spray swipper to mop the floors.
Oh and I can't forget the windows. I wash all the windows in the kitchen on Wednesdays as well.
Moving on to Thursday, this is a day I dedicate to the toy room and the laundry room. The twins
are so good to clean it themselves with just me supervising, but I filmed this while they were at
school. So if you watched my toy room declutter video, that was by far the largest declutter I
have ever done with their toys, and it has made the biggest difference when it comes to cleaning.
This is as messy as their room gets, and it literally takes five minutes max to clean.
Now on to the laundry room. I typically do at least one load of laundry every day to stay up
on it, but I use Thursdays to really catch up if I'm behind at all. I also give the entire room a
good cleaning because it gets so dusty and disgusting so fast. I also just wanted to
throw in there the toy room and the laundry room and our master bathroom are all we have left of
remodels. So we are finally almost done with our remodels. I can't believe how long it's taken us,
but when you're doing a lot of it yourself, it does take some time.
Fridays I dedicate to cleaning the family room and the downstairs living room.
Or is it the other way around? I don't know what the difference is between a family room and a
living room, but that's what I clean on Friday. Let me just also say this white carpet hasn't
been changed since we moved in, so that's one more thing we need to do upstairs. I would have
definitely not picked white carpet, especially with kids, but it is what it is. I'm doing a
little DIY here with some carpet refresher since I just ran out, but all you need is some baking
soda and you mix in some of your favorite essential oils. I use a fork to mix it around
and you will see it gets a little bit clumpy, but it's okay. It gets the job done.
This works just as well and leaves your carpet smelling so amazing. And lastly,
moving on to the downstairs, basically repeat everything that I did upstairs.
The last thing that I do that I didn't share upstairs is I will spray
the couches with this Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Spray. It smells amazing. And again,
it's the lavender scent. It's my favorite kind that they have. So I just spray the couches
and literally the entire house smells so good on Fridays after I do the carpet refresher and I use
the spray on the couches. All right, I'm sure you're going to hear some kids screaming.
My kids are just out running on the deck right now. I felt like I needed to close out my weekly
cleaning routine. If you guys liked it, be sure to give it a thumbs up. And if you have any
recommendations of other videos you'd like to see, leave them in the comments because I like to know
what you guys are interested in watching. So thank you guys so much for watching. We'll see you next
time. Bye.
