Biography Of Maria Mancini - Louis XIV's First Real Love: Maria Mancini was born in Rome, 28 August 1639 and was the daughter of Lorenzo Mancini and Girolama Mazarini, who was a sister of Cardinal Jules Mazarin. She was the first great love of Louis XIV, the sun king, but was expelled from the French court after the king wanted to marry her, which would have represented an unacceptable mésalliance, especially as the Cardinal was conducting negotiations to secure a royal marriage between louis xiv and the infanta Maria Theresa of Spain.
