Taller.
What?
No.
I said taller.
This basketball player is the tallest high school basketball player in the world and
is already taller than everyone in the NBA, but who is he and can he make the NBA?
What is up dudes, dudettes, ballers, players.
It's ya boi MJ.
Today I wanted to talk about the tallest high school basketball player right now, Robert
Brobrowski, the 7 foot 7 17 year old.
If you like this video, like and subscribe for more fire content.
Also, comment down below, do you think Robert can make the NBA based off just his height?
Alright, let's get into it.
You didn't mishear what I said.
Robert Brobrowski is 7 foot 7 and he's a sophomore in high school.
He's still growing.
He's at Chico and 2K.
The tallest player in the NBA right now is 7 foot 3.
The man is 7'7", 4 inches taller than the tallest player in the NBA right now.
What the heck?
If you look at him next to his teammates, the pictures look straight up photoshopped,
but it shouldn't come as a surprise considering that his father is 7 foot 1 and his mother
is 6 foot.
His father played along the tallest player in NBA history, Jorge Mourissan, for the Romanian
national team.
Mourissan was 7 foot 7, so you know what that means?
Robert is as tall as the tallest player in NBA history.
I know what all of you are about to say.
Look at him.
He's skinnier than a stick.
He's the literal definition of a stick man.
Just look.
If you put a stick man on top of Robert, you don't see Robert anymore, you just see a
stick man.
But Robert is committed to getting his weight up.
In one year, he has increased his weight from 190 lbs to 205 lbs and that is definitely
not easy.
He had to play limited minutes and focus more on building strength, sticking to a 5000 calorie
diet and work on his quickness.
Scouting reports say that apart from his obvious height, he has a mid-range and 3 point jumper
and has good passing ability, but he's plagued by the same big man problems that many big
men have.
He moves awkwardly and just has problems running.
I mean, it just looks odd, but you can be the judge of that.
Born in Romania, Robert grew up relatively normal until his pre-teen years where he just
had a massive growth spurt and was 7'1 at the age of 12.
What?
The man was a giant at 12?
It's times like these that just leave me in pure amazement.
After several medical studies, it was determined that Robert didn't have some medical condition
that made him tall.
It was his genetics that he got from his tall appearance.
And of course, he wasn't done growing.
At the age of 14, he was recruited by A.S. Stella Azzurra, the same club that produced
Andrea Bargnani.
That's something right?
Andrea Bargnani was the number one overall pick and was good in the NBA before injuries
made him a laughing stock and yeah.
Still, Robert Bobrovsky is pretty well known considering the fact that his highlights of
him dominating his competition at the Spire Institute in Ohio went viral.
Spire is an Olympic facility where Robert went to train for his high school experience
and has aspirations of making the NBA.
Now I personally don't know if he can make the NBA.
He's still expected to grow even more.
So basically, Robert might be the first person to touch the sky at this rate.
But for real though, he has a lot of bulking up to do to even play consistent minutes at
the college level.
He has shown signs of insane dedication.
The coaching staff at Spire shower Robert in compliments about how he wants it so bad.
And he's shown that he can bulk up.
Remember Porzingis?
He was too skinny for the NBA as well and he bulked up.
Now Porzingis is just a beast.
Robert has a long way to go for that, but it's still possible.
He's on many European basketball clubs' radars, but his goal is to make the NBA.
Robert Bobrovsky is the tallest high school basketball player in the world at 7'7 and
is just a freak of nature, but he's a freak of nature that just might make it into the
NBA.
