The Restoration of 600 years Historic Scotland Castle to Modern Living Homes
The Scottish castle, which was built between 1404 and 1454, had been neglected for many years before Mrs Kate Armstrong bought it, and had problems including rot to the roofs and damage to ornate design work. Then, the restoration process of the castle was carried out.
A four-year battle began to restore 110 rooms, but Kate took on the responsibility of preserving the history of the Kennedy Clan, who had called Cassillis home for 21 generations.
While the new owner discovers waterlogged kitchens and hidden rooms, a historical investigation reveals the building's transformation from defensive fort to pleasure palace, as well as a connection to one of Scotland's most famous murder mysteries. Will the weight of history and the magnitude of the task be too much for Kate and her army of restorers to bear in order to save it?

As the new owners transform the buildings into their homes, the family trees of these crumbling ruins start to emerge. Tales of Kings and Queens, murder, civil unrest, moments that shocked and shaped Britain are revealed as these buildings are brought back to life.
