Such gorillas here live on leaves eat grass and branches and much of what they eat is really rough food It's almost impossible not to be a little fascinated by apes It is because they are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom and that in many ways we can recognize ourselves in them So what we do is we give them vegetables On this tour you can learn a lot about how apes are like us and how they are not along with one of our skilled guides We are studying their behavior learning for example what they eat and how ape groups function in relation to human families Our program is based on either a gorilla or a chimpanzee and we can if the group is interested include other of our apes in the program For example portable radios walkie-talkies or pagers Here comes Samson our big hand Now you can see that she is moving and stretching herself Can I see her moving away Because here it's the father who's in charge and the father wants to sit over there The items are available for about an hour I can come for a coffee break from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock every day of the week In the winter outside of the park's regular season we also conduct actual behavioral studies of the chimpanzees This lasts about three hours If I now start to sit and yawn soon I can try to look at the teeth Can I see them They're almost as big as a wolf's so they could actually be bigger than wolf teeth these teeth Does he lean sideways There's something about Samson's long fingers A scavenger hunt is suitable for all grade levels We adapt the content according to the participants' age When they wanted to catch a gorilla they just went into the forest and caught them In winter driving tests they are adjusted for the oldest grade levels When he got them he had broken his long fingers so he's had them in a clamp in a box or something since then So that is why Samson cannot break his long fingers So it's a bit strange so when he then lifts his hand and does something like that it looks like he's reaching diagonally upwards
