I was like, yeah sure we can Cuz you hated on them dumb little Santa Did not Hey, don't let him hear you as a surefire way to get on the naughty list And I think my hesitation was there were kind of an in-between height and I was worried about that but Everybody else seems to think 18 inches is good. I think inches is good Like I feel like it's a good standard height. How tall is that 18 inches? Yeah makes sense All right, two coats on that way. No, I can do this. I think I'm done. What's my white? Do you think my white looks too spickly? Yeah, it's probably gonna need three coats three coats Whoa, but does it look like hair? Should I leave it like that? I'm painting this this little piece here I did I went looked online and that's what the light brown is the breast and then He's supposed to have like a little light brown in his nose area up here But this isn't really meant for that. So I guess it's just gonna get a dark brown. I think it'll work Hey you guys I love it when you guys paint them and then give me a better idea Because I'm just winging it. Oh, you didn't even look at the colors on it. I literally just sprung it on you with a printout This is tail light brown, too. Yes Okay, good. I Was even considering doing his? Antlers in that light brown, but I think they actually should be in a darker brown or almost black Like I'm gonna mix mix some Black in with dark brown and then do it that way look these are gonna be really quick and easy paints so Haley and Matt said were we gonna put the lighthouse on patreon? And I think with that new DTF transfers over those door tags We could do some really cool things. Yeah for sure. Yeah, we can make some cool backers We can make the door tags and sell them with the DTF already on there Like like wrapping paper, I don't even know yet. Yeah. Well that way you wouldn't have to put the We did the mod podge of the scrap paper over them So you wouldn't have necessarily have to do that. You could just put that DTF transfer heat press that right on there I think most of you crafty folks probably already have some sort of heat press even the the Easy press easy press will work gross Feel like you're a little hasty with his bowtie a little bow and you put your finger in my my paint I see that now. Yeah, oops This makes waste and why does he get blonde? Why does he get light brown? Eyebrows, but Santa had to have black eyebrows Because his eyebrows match the rest of the late light brown on there. I might make him two layers Yeah, he's a little flat right he could just he could go with another layer see that's what test cut Tuesdays Yeah, I might make his back legs actually sit back a layer Yeah, I have a little layer back here. Yeah, just for his legs Yeah, I think I'm going to give him a bit double layer Double layer on Rudolph. Can you can you hold him up closer so that they can see them better? Like save the summer shoes And you can't tell on the camera, but they his antlers are a little darker, right I could go even darker brown or Black maybe just to give that contrast who? make them sparkles Sparkly antlers glitter antlers. There we go It's my squid game Now you can mount so these little so in the back you want to show them what's happening in the back So the slots are nice and wide so it slides in really nice and easy Yeah, there you go yeah, I got little slots in the board and So you put that back there, and then it just kind of leans on that a little bit now. You can't go back Yeah, you can glue it you can glue it and it'll stay there forever But if you don't glue it, then you've got a little easier storage Slightly into them. Yeah, you could always put even a Command strip right there. Oh, yeah stick them temporarily. That's a good for the season and then you can still pull it apart and Yeah, you can see these no you don't have to bring them over So I see how professional this tuft of hair looks it's a well, yeah Garrett decided he was gonna paint it like hair All right. Yeah, you're really looking for this edge Okay, so if you guys were watching maybe our tick-tock It stormed one day and Garrett had this sitting under the Drain pipe and it was just flowing water over it But it's been outside that's three weeks. Yes before that We had it sitting outside when we first got the DTF transfer to test it out before we ever got our printer We really wanted to see if these would be pretty waterproof So We put this on the board We pressed it onto the board and then we set it outside and it stayed outside for several weeks And then even last week. Yeah Well, we brought it in for Friday's video when we're filming last week's video to actually talk about how well they've held up in in rain and direct elements So but we never even put that in the video So I'm glad you guys asked about it because this board has actually set out there. It sat in the rain this has sat in the rain and Straight Sun on the blacktop Yep, I just had it leaning up against the building with no overhang and no coverage just on the side so it would get all of the rain and Thought maybe you might get some bird droppings on it. But no just rain So we a couple of things you can see how well the DTF is held up. There is I mean wait, well, I mean maybe it'll just a slight swell but Maybe down here even I could feel a little bit at the bottom. That's where it was sitting in the leaves Right here a little bit, but you can't see it. And then the DTF transfer has just held up really well So I'm super excited. This is what we've been talking about wanting to try you can kind of see the watermarks No There's just watermarks and all drippings down the back from where it got wet You can see it in the side cam. I bet you that one you can seem to get close and closer a couple of things about Santa's beard texturizes beard with Like plaster or something You can use baking soda in your paint and dab it for texture beard hat band cuffs Yes, or we could add cotton for dimension I just feel like that might get dingy looking after a few seasons said thanks for the birthday shout out earlier Do we think that the burn on the edges from the laser helps to seal it I actually have had the same thought I don't know but maybe I might cut cut an edge and put it back outside and see what happens I Do know when you try to paint the edges it just sucks that paint right in at first Caroline said did we print this on? No, it's a transfer. We actually printed that new DTF printer we have it prints to some film and then you lay it down and then you put your Heat press over it and it transfers on like vinyl like iron-on vinyl So last few Friday videos were DTF because we were excited about it. I was excited about it It almost feels like rubber so I almost I feel like With this on it gives it a better waterproofing with that. Yes. It really is sealing it even more. So yeah Except one times said her MDF bubbled. Oh Really? It must be good MDF because her I got the good stuff. I Don't know but I we know that My sister leaves her door hangers out right on the side of her garage in the elements at all times and they've done great And like I said, we were testing this so I know that the MDF is just raw not sealed at all And then the transfer was on there. Yeah, we got the good MDF. I got the Mott's David yes, he did. I was looking at trying to modify a DTG printer when I found DTF And then looking for a UV printer, but those jams are expense I'm afraid I'm gonna get hit with that and one more comment about Adding some gray around the edges would give this dimension in the beard.
