Can we leave this town tonight? To the Pacific shoreline And I'll go anywhere if you'll be by my side It's alright, we'll leave everything behind And I'll say, follow me to the unknown We'll take the back roads we don't know Let's get lost, don't take a guess Don't need a map, drive too fast Ah, the sun is out, the waves are crashing The boardwalk is bustling, the sand is warm Wait a minute, scratch that We've got the beach board behind us We're going to give you a tour Definitely, this is the time of year you want to plan your beach vacation So that's what we want to help you with You're going to make me have the damn giggle And your sunscreen is like soaking in so it's not looking real good Okay, welcome back to the channel I've been wanting to do this video for months And I've had people ask me What is the best boardwalk on the East Coast? What beaches are we going to go to? Cape May, Wildwood, Ocean City, Maryland And Rehoboth Beach And we've been to all of these And we're hoping to get back again this year I can't stress it We're trying to get our subscriber count up Make sure you click that subscribe button right down there So if you're going to one of these beaches Make sure you check out this review Because I'm excited to show it to you People have been asking for it Let's get right into it And let's start to get serious So it is that time of year to start planning your boardwalk vacations And we have four great ones for you We did these last year But we wanted to critique these And show you what we thought were some of the highlights And do a tally And see exactly how it would come out So what we're going to try and do with the point system We're going to give a one point for the winner out of the four beaches If we think something deserves a bonus point We're going to give that an extra point So you could possibly get two points for each category, right? Yep, I'm keeping score Score is being kept So let's start with one of the categories Which everybody wants to hear about And that is the beach What we think is the best beach Between the four of them Wildwood has a very long beach So it takes a little time to get out there As you can see Ocean City Beach is very nice Rehoboth is a little more narrow So it can tend to get a little more crowded But in my opinion Cape May Beach is beautiful The only thing I don't like about the Cape May Beach In my opinion is you have to pay to go on it I understand Cape May while you're doing this But let everybody enjoy that beach What's your opinion? I think the beach at Cape May is beautiful I like the beach in Ocean City Because I have ease to Food and drink and restaurants And it is free to go on the beach So I like the beach in Ocean City better Ocean City, Maryland That's some good points I think we're going to give one of them Each a point Ocean City and Cape May Alright this is a fun category And it is important to a lot of people What about the rides and amusements At these places Well in my opinion There is only one clear winner I will give a good runners up to In my opinion Ocean City, Maryland Because I think they have a lot of rides Cape May hardly has anything In fact I don't even know if they have a ride And Rehoboth is fairly small Wildwood I think they have four pairs of rides And then water parks And in my opinion They win this category Hands down I'm giving my bonus points to Wildwood too What's your impression? I think if you are a young family Wildwood is where you want to go So I think we both kind of agree Wildwood deserves the ride category And amusements So let's give them the category And a bonus point Two points, Wildwood So what boardwalk do we think Is best for the family There's so many things to do In Wildwood, New Jersey I think that has to be up there Ocean City, Maryland as well They have a lot of different activities So those are the two I'm thinking What do you think? I would definitely have to say Wildwood For family I wish we would have discovered that sooner With our kids Do you remember in Wildwood They even had four Monster trucks on the beach So many different things So let's give I'm thinking Wildwood You want to give both that Split it up Ocean City, Maryland One point Wildwood, one point Ocean City For the best of family Category Alright if you watch our channel You know we like to eat So we're going to get into this next category Who has the best Variety of food on the boardwalk I think it's Between Wildwood And Cape May And what do you think? I think the same Obviously Quincy's, the lobster rolls There's a Quincy's in both locations Hot Dog Tommy's In Cape May I've never seen so many people so patiently waiting For a hot dog Which by the way was well worth it You cannot miss Hot Dog Tommy's And say hello to Tommy, he's amazing And then you know Madison's Bakery in Cape May If you like sticky buns That's what they're known for Make sure you try those out In Wildwood, remember the gyros? Yes The Dry Rose which is right on the boardwalk Again is an amazing place Of course Rehoboth And Ocean City have their specialty food too We just like these two Because where else Are you going to get a lobster roll So let's get into some of the beauties Of these towns, in my opinion There is only one winner In this because it's just stunning To walk around downtown So I'll hold mine Let's see what she says first Oh definitely Cape May The architecture like she said The beauty of the homes Along the coast there Everything is just beautiful In Cape May From the streets you're walking down To the homes along the coast The gardens It's all just amazing Everybody just takes care of everything there It's very very clean I gotta give my bonus point To Cape May on this one Alright let's get into the length of the boardwalk At these four different places I think Ocean City Maryland Has a great length Of the boardwalk And remember you're riding the bikes along the coast And you can see the water the whole time So it is perfect for bike riding What do you think? Oh even taking the tram Or a Segway It is a nice length It's a beautiful view the whole time Yeah and Rehoboth is pretty unique too It's only a mile long So that's why I say it's not really a long boardwalk I think Ocean City is about Two miles so it's the perfect Length in my opinion And it's all flat Straight it's a great boardwalk To definitely ride a bike on Shopping what do we think Is the best shopping Of these four places So let's get into shopping Of course they all have some great shopping But in my opinion two stand out Let's see what you think first I agree I think Cape May and Rehoboth Have to be the standouts for shopping Yeah in Cape May they had that Washington Street Mall Which was fabulous And there's just so many unique shops in Rehoboth So I'm thinking They each get a point in this category So one of the other categories We have adults Or older generation people And go ahead What's your opinion I think Rehoboth and Cape May Are just perfect for a relaxing Adult vacation without A lot of I'll say children Teenagers Rehoboth is great for shopping But Cape May for the architecture And the gardens And the beauty I really like Cape May Yeah I think so too Rehoboth and Cape May Probably win hands down For adult category Wildwood and Ocean City They just tend to be a more younger crowd Family oriented So yeah I think a point to each Rehoboth and Cape May So let's get into one of the fun categories Candy Who has the best candy on the boardwalks Between all four of these I'm gonna say Cape May and Wildwoods Because of Frelingers and Douglas Yeah they were amazing and they make All their candy right on site So I do have to agree They all have great candy Stores Rehoboth Had a place called Snyder's That was really cool too but I gotta go with the history of this With Douglas's and Frelingers Because they've been around For a very long time Remember what you got I got the same thing at both places The dark chocolate Covered caramel sprinkled with sea salt And it was good Make sure you check these two Places out So we're gonna give a point to Wildwood And Cape May Alright let's get into some Ice cream who has the best ice cream They all have great ice cream Places Ocean City has A place called Domsters that's a really cool Place but for me Rehoboth Beach had a place It was called the Ice Cream Store And They literally have hundreds of flavors It was absolutely amazing Which one do you think? I wasn't along for that trip Our daughter though couldn't say enough About the flavors the choices In Rehoboth I would have to say the Peace Pie In Cape May with the Key Lime Pie Ice Cream Sandwich We had there I've never seen a specialty store That just sold ice cream sandwiches But yes they were Excellent so I think we're Gonna give a point to Rehoboth and Cape May On ice cream Alright let's get into a little bit about parking Which one better over The others as far as parking goes I like free parking Ocean City has parking That's on the street And if you go back from the boardwalk a little bit Like two or three blocks And I think it's above First Street There's all kinds of street parking And you can park there for free Now you do have a little bit of a hike But I like that about Ocean City And I don't mind paying for parking I do like that Ocean City Has a parking lot Right at the pier So it's ocean front parking Wildwoods also has a very nice Large parking lot That welcomes you to their boardwalk as well So I actually like Those two for different reasons Than my husband Yeah but I think we kind of agree I don't know if one sticks out more than the other So I don't think we're giving any points In parking because they can be tough parking No matter what time of year You go well if you go off season It's not as bad obviously But summertime they all can Have their challenges Alright again if you watch our videos you know We love pizza too So who has the best pizza On these boardwalks I'm going to have to stick with Dough Roller and Ocean City Maryland It's just my favorite It's thin crust, the cheese is perfectly Salty, I just can't explain it Their pizza is my favorite Yeah it is definitely one of my favorites too But also over in Wildwood they have a place called Kona which has like a pizza cone Very unique And they are absolutely amazing So if you go to Wildwood Make sure you try Both of those I know some of you are going to disagree And say Grotto's But in our opinion it's Dough Roller And Kona We'll give a point to each one of them Alright let's get into french fries Who's got the best french fries In our opinion What do you think? Thrasher's in Ocean City Maryland and in Rehoboth Yes they are absolutely amazing Crispy, hot, I don't know We've tried fries in the other places This one just sticks out As a clear winner They get a bonus point for that one So who has the most Things to do that you could spend A couple of days there You could spend days in all of these places But one I think for me Sticks out the most What do you think? I think Wildwood That's the exact one I was thinking There's so many different things We were only there for one day One full day And I definitely want to go back And spend 3, 4, 5 days there There were so many things that we saw That we didn't have time to take advantage of Or experience So I definitely think that there's enough there To keep you busy for an entire week And not do the same thing twice Remember they had that private swimming pool Right along the boardwalk And 3 or 4 different piers I tell you I swear they have As many rides as Disney But don't quote me on that one Hands down Bonus points to Wildwood New Jersey So we hit most of the major categories Let's go over the tally And see who we think Or what the tally says who won Well we actually have a tie For the top spot Cape May and Wildwood both got 8 points each And I think Both of us would agree for that And it's interesting because Cape May would be the favorite for adults Wildwood's the favorite for families But again we would both go back to Both of those in an instant I will say that Rehoboth is a Really great getaway Weekend for relaxing It's quiet, it's peaceful in the off season Same thing with Ocean City We'll go down there just for the day You know to Ocean City just to Ride the bikes on the boardwalk And just stroll along And shop and enjoy the beach Ocean City and Rehoboth are still Some of our favorite places to go You can't go wrong in any of these Make sure again They're very close to each other You can drive to one for a day if you wanted to From the other But so much to do in all of them They're all great If you book a vacation you won't be disappointed In any of these We just kind of tried to give you some highlights So make sure you click the like And subscribe button We're looking for subscribers I know a lot of views are just browsing But please just make sure you hit the button Right down there, it's free Keeps the channel going And you do not want to miss these future Boardwalk videos that we got coming Down the road along with So many other great ideas And tips for you Leave this town tonight Pacific shoreline You'll be by my side
