St. Patrick's Day Tiered Tray and Coffee Bar/DIY Bubble Gum Machine/10 Easy Tiered Tray Crafts

Hello crafty fags! This is Artsy Maddie and let's get creative! So today I just want to share with you my St. Patrick's Day Tiered Tray. And just some tutorials at the end. But I thought I'd just show you the finished tiered tray first and my finished coffee bar to coordinate with it. So I'll have a little tutorial on the little rainbow with the pot of gold. And that little leprechaun is just a Christmas ornament. I think it's supposed to look like a little leprechaun gnome. That white house you might recognize from other tiered tray decorations. I got that idea at the end of Christmas season. The little foam glitter berries are from Dollar Tree. And this little weathered necklace, shamrock necklace that you see, that is from Dollarama. And I'll show you how I do that as well. I'll give you a tutorial for the little birdhouse. This little white block is just a ceramic from Dollar Tree with a yes you can on the back. I just put a little cling, a window cling on it temporarily for St. Patrick's Day. The little orange poppies are from Ikea and I got those recently. So they are selling those right now. Moving up, so the little orange candle is from Ikea. That is actually on clearance right now. There's two sizes, $1 and $2. I'll have a tutorial for that little sign with the 17. That's a double-sided Dollar Tree sign. The little white mug is from HomeSense. It was a great deal, I think it was only $5.99. I thought it was so cute with the little shamrock attached. Those flowers in it are first finds. The little orange lantern is from Dollarama. That was quite a few years ago, so I don't think they still sell those. But I just knew that I wanted to bring some orange into my fair today as well. I always kind of think of the Irish flag with the orange and green together. That green mug is actually a first find as well. I think it was like a promotional beer mug, but I just thought it looked so perfect for St. Patrick's Day. The lucky sign, I will have a DIY for that too. It's just an easy decoupage project. That leprechaun on the right, he was a fifth floor find with a broken arm and some chip paint. I just fixed him up. I think he's adorable. I'm not sure where he came from originally. I just saved some rainbow candy canes from Christmas to bring with me during the St. Patrick's Day parade. These three little books, I'll have a little tutorial for that. Just made a Dollar Tree product. The sign, again, is a Dollar Tree sign that I made double-sided with a window cling. The boxwood ball in the back there is from Dollarama. Again, just gathered some of the little orange flowers. They're from Dollarama as well. The stone bearing is from Dollar Tree. Those ranunculus flowers, I think that's what I'm seeing it. Those wrists are find as well. You see those gathered through. The smile sign is from Dollar Tree. They didn't have to do anything to it. That's how they come. I thought they were really cute. That orange candle is the larger size from Ikea. That's the $2 one. This smaller one, I believe, is sponsored for $1 right now. The poppy was a fifth find. The birds, actually, I got two of those birds. That's just for one day. I want to say less than $2 each. I think they're $1.50 each. The green vase is from Dollar Tree. The flowers in the green vase are from Dollarama. The birch bark and moss ball I found recently at Dollar Tree. That was an exciting find. Hopefully, you guys will be able to find some of those too. I'm looking forward to using those in some summer crafts. I'm thinking maybe to do a camping DIY tiered tray would be fun as well. We love to camp. I'll be celebrating camping all summer. Then, across from this is where I have my coordinating coffee bar. I'll just be going through that as well with some projects and tutorials to follow after. If you're interested in learning to make any of these, just stay tuned. Here, I have taken a whiteboard that we used for homeschooling that we're no longer needing. I just turned it into a double-sided sign. There will be a tutorial for that. These are just some green porcelain mugs that I have in my cupboard. I added some window clings to them just temporarily for syntactic ease. That farmer's market that I showed in my frosty winter tiered tray is just a wooden CD crate. I just turned it into this area to hold mugs and hot chocolate and marshmallows and that sort of thing. This little green plant is from Ikea. I got that recently, so they are selling those right now. The plant in the other cup here on the right is the same as the top of the tiered tray. Those were first finds, but I think they are from Ikea originally. I'll have this tutorial on how to make this sign. The design is actually available on Etsy as well. If you have a Cricut or Silhouette, you can just type that out in Pinterest, which is super quick and simple. This bubblegum machine, I will have a tutorial for that. It actually tricked my son. He thought it was real. I guess it looks okay if I fooled him. This little glass shamrock dish, I just found that recently too at a thrift store. I thought it was so cute because it tastes like a holey silver. I will have a tutorial for this little styrofoam rainbow. This little dish in the back is from the event, Luck of the Irish in New York. This is from Michael, I believe. I want to say 3 or 4 years ago. I just found it at the end of the season. The little glass motive was at a thrift find. These green candles are from Ikea as well. They are on clearance right now too. It's a great deal if you are in Ikea and you want to pick up those orange or green candles. I don't know if I am saying that flower right. I love them. I think they are so pretty. They remind me of mini cabbages. Those are a great thrift find. That little green vase I have had forever. For like 20 years, I think. Since I first moved out, I have 3 coordinates. I always have little blossoms in them. I think that is about it. We will be heading into tutorials pretty quick here. I am going to start with the bubble gum machine. This is just a set of 3. I am not sure if they are meant to be super large drinking cups. I am not really sure. They are in the storage section. Originally, I wanted to use the little glass bowl from Dollar Tree. I ended up having to go with the larger one. I wanted to use this as the top. This is a terracotta plant pot plate to put your terracotta plants on. I only could find this size. It is a little big, so I had to go with the bigger bowl. I just scratched up the surface of this red cup because it is super shiny. I was not sure the paint would stick to it super well. I just used a little bit of sandpaper to rough it up. I am just giving it a coat of green paint. I believe I gave it 2 coats to be sure it had good coverage. Now, I am just showing you how I created that little plate on the front of the bubble gum machine. I am going to use this super small cap that was on an old food coloring jar. Just use whatever you have. I am just showing you for size. I used a large acrylic paint jar for the bottom circle. I used the Mod Podge jar for the top circle and the lid to be the smaller circle inside. Then, I just drew lines straight down. For these little shapes here, I am using a glue stick. I am tracing around it to get the top rounded shape. Then, I am just drawing a flat bottom on it. I will be gluing three of those together to make a shape. For the little part that the gum ball comes out into, I just cut a bottle cap in half. I tried to give it that little bit of curve to match the cup. That worked out great. Now, I am just going to be putting it all together here. I did curve the cardboard in my hand, just trying to curl it so that it will match the curve of the cup. Then, I don't have to fight with the hot glue wanting to peel away the paint or not stick to the cup. Then, I just went in and scribbled a design with some hot glue. I am just going to give it a texture. You know, one of those really pretty antique bubble gum machines. The metal always has the design in it. It is not going to be fancy, just a scribbly design. Here, I am going to be sticking those three little shapes together. Those are going to help make up the little turning handle on the bubble gum machine. You will see what I mean here in a minute. I am just going to glue them together to make them thicker and to have the shape that I want. Then, I am going to be putting them with that little cap. I will be back in a moment. I am just going to cover this with some foil, mod podge down, just some matte mod podge and putting that foil on. Then, just putting some mod podge over top. I really tried to press the foil down into that design just so that it has the texture from the hot glue. I tried to burnish it with the back of my brush a little bit. I am just making sure it is all flattened down on the bottom and the back. Then, glue down that little cap. This will make that turning mechanism. I am just gluing down those shapes. Then, I am going to go in with some black paint. It did tear the foil on the hole part, but it doesn't matter because I want that to be darker anyway. I am not too worried about that. I did feel like it didn't have quite enough definition, so I just outlined it with some hot glue as well. Just so that it separates that little keyhole kind of feature. Then, I am just going to glue on that little part that would catch the gumball at the bottom. I know I will have to be careful with this just because it is painted and I did use hot glue. If you are worried about that and kids will be playing with it, then maybe I would glue the bottle cap on first with some plastic super glue before you paint at all. I am not too worried about that. My kids are older and will know to leave it alone. Now, to paint it, I am just going in with some dark black paint just to be my shadows. That darker part in the hole in the keyhole feature. Then, I am going to go in with some gunmetal gray, or sorry, gunmetal pewter I want to call it. It is like a dark silver color and it kind of has a metallic finish to it. Then, just covering the whole thing. I went in while the black paint was still wet and just kind of blending them together. I have a really bristly brush to kind of get into those little grooves and spaces. Then, I go over the edge where there is soil, like where I know there is soil and not just hot glue, and just wipe away a little bit of the paint so that the soil shows through and looks really metallic. Then, just painting that little cap for the bubblegum to fall into. The faux bubblegum hole. Then, because I had curved that cardboard before, this just fits right onto the cup. I don't have to fight with it or struggle with it to keep it down onto the cup. That worked out well. I would suggest doing that for sure. I am going to begin this cap and then just stuck it all together. I just used hot glue because I am not too worried about it. Moving on to the little rainbow, the trick to cutting foam is a sharp blade. They sell this sharpening stone at Dollar Tree. I highly recommend it. These nesting rings I got from Dollarama. I believe they were $2 or $2.50. These styrofoam rings that fit together. A nice clean blade so you can get a nice clean cut. Then, I am just going to paint them. I am going to do a light green on the biggest ring and then a medium green and a darker green. Then, I just wanted to add some little shamrock to it. I was trying to figure out the easiest way to do that that you guys can do with me. I am just adding some white paint to the light green to be enough of a contrast on it. The easiest way to paint a shamrock is just to make little hearts. If you just think of it as three little hearts and then a stem. Some of them I did do four, like a four leaf clover. You give it four little hearts and then a stem. It does get a little bit squishy. I just want to help you guys. If there is anyone out there that is intimidated by paint, do not be intimidated by paint. The more you practice, the better you will get. It is fun and it is therapeutic. You get these wonderful hand painted crafts after. I really love that. I would love to encourage people to do that. This is super easy. Do not be intimidated. I am using an embossing tool from Dollar Tree. It comes in great for dot painting and all kinds of details. For little eyeballs or anything where you need a perfect round circle, this is great for. It is really handy to have. Then I just add some of the medium green paint to the whitened paint. The clovers, like the little shamrock, will get a little bit darker as the rain goes down. This is a medium light green. Then the darker green will be a little bit darker. I will add a little bit of dark green to that. I hope I am going slow enough that you guys can see. This makes me a little heart shape. Then just a random pattern. It is kind of an all over pattern. I knew some of it would be hidden by the rain, but I tried to focus on a random even pattern. That is it for this craft. It is fun for kids to do as well. This craft is super easy. These are just those little black cauldrons from Dollar Tree, as well as two headbands from Dollar Tree. I am just going to take them apart. They did come apart fairly easy. I was able to pull those wires and stems off of the back. On the one rainbow, I just cut off the cloud and the pot of gold. Then I made it into a double sided rainbow. I am just gluing them into place so that they are not opposite but the same on each end. I just stuck some cotton down into that pot to help hold it in place. I didn't bother putting any glue down into it. Once I got it in there, I realized that it was going to be really top heavy. The rainbow wanted to fall over. To add some weight to it, I just went and found some little glass gems. They are kind of the oversized ones. Then I just put in five or six to hold it to keep it from toppling over. Then I was trying to figure out what to put in to be the little gold coins. I thought, I'll just try using this iris line and scrunch it up. I thought it worked okay. It just looked like there was gold in the pot. I went with it. Nice and simple. I used all the parts, all the pieces. These are some numbers from Dollar Tree. I just gave them two coats of green paint just to get their coverage. This is an old latex paint that I just have on hand. Then I knew I wanted to decoupage the napkins on the left onto just the face, the front of them. To get a nice clean finish, I just thought I'd give it a white base coat. This is just chocolate. I love those little stamping sponges. They come in handy. They are from Dollar Tree as well. I gave it a nice even coat of Mod Podge. I tried to lay down my napkin as flat and even as I could. It was a little tricky. It's just a one ply of napkin, so it's very, very thin. I just rolled it over the little wrinkles and they almost disappeared. They're not really too bothersome. I did the same thing with the word lucky. These letters are also from Dollar Tree. I got lucky one day and they had lots of letters, so I tried to think of a few words to make. This was one of them. These napkins are also from Dollar Tree. You just separate it to have that very top layer of the napkin with the print on it. Then you just wait for it to dry. I didn't put Mod Podge on top of them. I just let them dry with just the Mod Podge underneath. That seems to work okay for me. Then just sanding away all the edges. It just comes clean. Just like a manufactured edge, it works really well. It's such a great trick. This is a little sign from the Dollar Tree. This 1 and 7 fit in just about perfectly. I just had to sand a little tiny bit on the back of the 7 there on that top corner that you see. Then they fit perfectly. I just painted the back of the sign white. Then these yellow tires were just kind of bothering me. I just thought they looked a little bit silly. I just went over it with a black Sharpie and just put black tires on the track. It's nice and simple. I made it into a double-sided sign that you can use on your cheered train. Same thing with this. This is just another of the little St. Patrick's Day signs from Dollar Tree. This is a window cling. I just cut around it more carefully just so you don't have the plastic around the edges. Then I just added some large polka dots with the back of a larger paintbrush. This is some matte paint I had from doing the rainbow. I'm just trying to give it a nice even set of polka dots everywhere. I'll just show you that whole process. There you go. I just sealed it with some Mod Podge over top of the window cling and the polka dots to protect everything. Voila! Double-sided sign. These are necklaces from Dollarama. I just really like the shape of them. I thought they would look really cute if I could make them look like some weathered wood. Like as if they were little carved necklaces. I don't know if I quite achieved that, but I do like the effect overall. I'm just dry brushing some medium green color onto them, just acrylic paint. It's kind of a heavy dry brush. Both sides, waiting for it to dry. Then I'm going to go in with some light green. There we go. This is kind of a heavy dry brush too. I would say I just get lighter and lighter with each color. The most would be the medium green, a little bit less with the light green. Then I'm going to move on to a tan, I believe it's called tan cashmere. It's just a tan color from Dollar Tree. I mixed it with a little bit of white just to lighten it up. Here, even lighter. Barely touching all the little pieces just to get that look as if they were maybe made of wood. Then they're just wearing away, all the paint is wearing away. Then just for a final touch, just a tiny little bit of white on the very edges. Just so it looks very old and weathered. I really like the way they came out. This little birdhouse is from Dollarama. I stained it with just some watered down acrylic green paint. I just turned it into a little green birdhouse. Then I knew I wanted to decorate it with green flowers and green moss. Here I'm just cutting out some craft foam and making some little kind of faux roses just with a spiral coil of craft foam. I'll just show you how I did that. Then I decided maybe it would be nice to have some more detailed flowers. I found this pattern online for free. I'll put the link in my description box. Just trace those out onto some foam. When I printed it, I just did it as a wallet size with nine on the printer. That's how I got them to be small like that. It is hard to transfer things to foam. I've been figuring that out lately. What I did was let the pen break through the paper to make it more like a template. Then I could see the print on the foam. I would recommend that. That's all I've found so far. If you know of a better way to transfer a design to foam, please share in the comments. That would be great to know. If you have that knowledge, please share that with me. I would be so thankful. I'm just coiling these up. I showed three flowers because I got a little better technique here as I went. If you lay the flower flat on your work surface and just coil it up flat like using your table instead of your fingers, that seems to be the easiest way to make these. You start with the outer ring of your spiral. I'll just show you here so you can see the paper is wearing away. It got easier and easier. It was just like a template. Start with that outer ring. You're just going to roll it carefully and use your work surface. That seems to be the easiest way to put these together. This would not be for kids. If you have those little finger protectors, I would definitely recommend those. My fingers are half my fingers. I don't have a ton of sensation talc glue. Anyway, I just thought this pattern was really cute. I was really happy with them. They remind me of... What are those little mini carnations? I want to call them dianthus. I'm not sure if that's correct. Then the third type of flower. I found these at Christmas time. These little... I want to call them pit berry wire stem things for the middle of a flower. I thought I'd make some really tiny ones. I just cut out these funky star shapes to be the flowers. That was it. Tiny little flowers that are mostly just those little stamen pieces. I'm not sure how to say that. Then I thought I would use some of this potpourri from Dollar Tree as well. It's a nice pretty green color. Those little seed pods really spoke to me that they would work well with this project. I'm just going in with some reindeer moss. I'm gluing that down as my base. I'm just putting a little bit of reindeer moss first. Then I'll go in with some of these flowers and do a little arrangement right onto the birdhouse. I wish I had some little birds for this, but I don't really have any of this moss. I'll have to keep an eye out for those. I think I'll use this probably all through spring and maybe even into summer as well. Again, I just put a little base of the reindeer moss. Then just put a couple of flowers and seed pods on top. That was that for that project. Then I'll just show you how I made that vine. I just darkened up the frame of it. It's just a plastic laminate. Just covering it with acrylic paint worked out fine. I just wanted it to be a little bit darker brown than that just because I have a lot of darker brown in my house. I just did both sides of the frame because I will be making this into a two-sided frame down the road. I'll probably do a garden cafe or maybe even an Easter cafe in time. Then I wanted it to have that chalkboard look, so I just went in and gave it two coats of black paint. It's not actually chalkboard, so I didn't actually use chalkboard paint, but just black paint. I found this design on Etsy that I just loved. I will link that in my description box. I just printed it out and copied it with carbon paper. This is a metallic marker from Dollar Tree. I had some luck with this on my Frosties cafe. That video is on my channel as well if you're interested in that. I thought I would just give it a try with this green one. They just came out with these green ones and it worked great. This is all from one pen. I was able to outline everything and the pen was still going, so I thought, great, I'll fill it in. I have a second one if I need it. I did this full time with one pen from the Dollar Tree, which I thought was very impressive. It wore the nib down right to nothing. It didn't even run out of ink, just the nib wore out. I got the whole thing done with one pen, which I was impressed by. Now onto these little books here. I just painted them light green, medium green, and dark green. I'm using these little stamps just with some white chalk paint. It's a little messy, but I don't mind. It just kind of has that handcrafted look to it. I just wrote Iris Kisses and Shamrock Wishes. I thought that was a cute little thing and I found that on Pinterest. I have this green wrap behind my stash. Then I just wrapped some green baker's coin that I just found recently at Dollar Tree as well. I just wrapped that around, tied it in a couple knots just off to the side as a detail and a feature on it. Then I have some little bone stickers of Shamrock, like little clovers. I picked out two big ones and two medium sized ones. Then just sandwiched them together over top of the wrap behind the coin just as a little added detail. That is it, you guys. Super simple. Lots of ideas for tier trays. They don't have to be expensive. I feel like everything was super affordable. You kind of work with what you have and kind of dream it up from there.
