Oslo is on course to become the first capital city in the world with an all-electric public transport system, targeting that goal for the end of 2023 as part of its aim to become the world's first wholly emissions-free city by 2030.
奧斯陸有望成為世界上第一個擁有全電動公共交通系統的首都，目標是在2023年底實現這一願景，作為其到2030年成為世界上第一個完全零排放城市的目標的一部分。

The Vice-Mayor responsible for environment and transport, Sirin Stav, said the transport push entails replacing its diesel-fuelled buses with 450 electric ones under a 500 million crown ($47 million) program that will save the city money over the long term.

"The maintenance is cheaper, it's also cheaper for the operators of the electric buses, so all in all, this is a win-win situation," said Vice-Mayor responsible for environment and transport, Sirin Stav.

She encourages other cities to follow Oslo's example. Oslo has already electrified most of the ferries that ply the fjord.

Norwegian welcomes the move but people want to see more done.

"I've been riding for a few years now, and every winter, we seemingly breathe in dirtier and dirtier air. You can see it on your glasses. And every March, April after spring, the dust just seems to cover the air," said Harpreet Gill.
