Accompanied by music and birdsong, I recorded the whole process of re-setting up my greenhouse for fall/winter garden. This video brings me good memories and satisfaction, and I hope it will also bring you a good day!
I just took off the plastic sheeting from the greenhouse in June this year
which is 2022 because I live in Ohio in the middle of the United States
Located in Zone 6 the temperate region has
officially warm weather in mid-May and by September
the temperature starts to drop sharply To extend
the time for growing vegetables in the garden
So I bought this
tunnel greenhouse from Amazon
last October in 2021 It is 10x6x6 in size
Because I was worried the summer sun would be bad for the plastic sheeting on the greenhouse
so I took it off in June and put it back on in September
Today's video is a record
Check out how one person covers a greenhouse with plastic sheeting
If you want to know how to build one from scratch
you can also check out my previous video where I unboxed this small greenhouse
Because I put a metal net on top of the greenhouse to prevent snow and rain
from collapsing this small greenhouse so to avoid the metal net from
damaging the original plastic sheet of the greenhouse
So I'll start by putting on a clear plastic sheet because plastic items that have
been exposed to wind and sun for years may
have dust or water stains on the outside
So I first spray it
with water and clean it off then immediately dry it off
some dirtier areas I brush with a
brush then also immediately dry it off
I hope the plastic sheeting will improve
the greenhouse's light transmission
It's already too late for eggplants to bear fruit So I just pulled them out
Because they knew in the beginning that autumn would cover the greenhouse with plastic
again what is planted under the greenhouse are adjustable bitter melons and tomatoes
Taping the greenhouse with the provided tape can make it more stable
The potted plants that have been in the corner of the
house since the seedling stage might last until October
or November so I moved them into the small greenhouse
because the cold nights are not good for their growth
This shelf was previously used for growing
watermelons now it can be used for autumn seedlings
Because I'm someone who does things on a whim I
didn't think to put up a shelf in the greenhouse
until the mortar was all set because it gets really
cold in winter and there's snow for several months
It's more convenient to have a shelf for storing things
because the north side of the greenhouse gets no sunlight
so I originally wanted to put this iron shelf there
but it turned out the height of the iron shelf exceeded that of the area
So I had to move it to the west side of the greenhouse
because the west wind is especially strong in my garden
the shelf is placed here
it can help block some of the wind for the greenhouse making it more stable
Under the greenhouse plastic I will sprinkle
baby powder which is what my daughter
didn't finish when she was a child it's been almost ten years I use it to keep ants away
After the inside is done let's work on the outside
This nylon rope for the four groups needs to be secured properly
It can effectively prevent wind
That's basically the basic assembly of the small greenhouse
If your weather is similar to mine
I don't know how everyone helps their plants survive the winter
I hope today's video is helpful to everyone
Thank you for watching see
you next time Bye
