So you are now 32 weeks pregnant and if you think about it it's not actually that long
until baby is classed as full term which is at 37 weeks so let's take a look at how they're
doing this week and see if we can make you feel that little bit more prepared for their arrival.
Well that little baby is now around four pounds in weight and is measuring at around 42 centimetres
in length which I'm guessing you can probably feel in that tummy of yours. Size wise they are
around the same size as a large kale leaf and as spread out as one too. So what's happening in
there right now? Well this week baby is now opaque which is probably a bit of a weird thing to say
but up until now their skin has been relatively transparent because there wasn't any fat there
but now as they're getting chunky they look more baby like than ever before. They also have tiny
fingernails that are growing rapidly now and if you go overdue you may find that your baby is
born with super long nails that require an immediate trim. That is the beauty of scratch
mitts or they attack their little faces. I used to love the sleep suits with the inbuilt fold over
scratch mitts they are a godsend. So what else is going on in there? Well your baby will be
enjoying periods of rest and play now and when they're resting or sleeping they will actually be
having dreams. Yep scientists have discovered that your baby can actually dream in this stage of
pregnancy. Their dream sleep patterns are actually very similar to that of an adult's as well. What
do you think they could be dreaming about? Your tummy rumbling maybe? Let's take a look at some
Now we talked about baby but what about you? How are you feeling and what is being
32 weeks pregnant really like? Well here at Channel Mum we're comparing the textbook
versus the truth with a little help from some other expectant mums just like you. Continuing
our labour and birth prep we thought we would talk about one thing that you definitely need
to have sorted soon. Your hospital bag. Now it's generally recommended that you have your hospital
bag packed and ready by the time you are 36 weeks pregnant so we thought we'd give you a little nudge
and give you some tips on what to pack in there as well. Now every mum is different and you may
choose to pack things that are personal and very specific to you or you might be one of those people
who just throws it all in a hold and hopes for the best. Most mums find that having a bag for
themselves with everything for labour and recovery and then a bag for baby with all of their cute
tiny little things in is best because it can be easier to find things quickly when you need to.
So we have a whole section over on Channel Mum devoted to hospital bags and you can see what
lots of other mums chose to pack in theirs. You may even spot mine in there too and as well as that
we also have a top 25 must-haves for your hospital bag video. We'll leave the links to both of those
down below for you so you can get watching for some inspiration. And now it's bump time so let's
take a look at those gorgeous 32 week baby bumps. I'll do my bump shot whilst I'm here. I can't really
see from the lights, oh there you can there, there's my little stretch mark going up there.
And yeah this is the belly naked. I feel like I'm getting like a bit podgy here but it can't be
helped can it? And this is it from the front. They're really really hard now. My belly button
depending on how much I've eaten tends to change shape quite a lot. It's like my belly's got a
little mouth which is disgusting. So what else can you expect this week in terms of physical symptoms
and emotions? Well we've got tons of vlogs over on Channel Mum for every week of pregnancy from
other mums who are at the same stage as you are right now. Let's see what they had to say about
being 32 weeks pregnant. I've been getting really grumpy lately. I felt this like huge need to just
keep up with everything that's going on all the time. I've been having really really bad acid reflux
and this week it's just got like extremely bad. I've been feeling so many movements. He's head
down because I'm getting the hiccups down low. Kicks in my right side at the top. Now I've
googled it and a lot of things say that normally at this stage baby is head down. If he's not it's
fine because a baby could be breached the day of delivery and they could still turn them. Obviously
I would rather this just happen naturally. I'm not massively concerned but I would just rather
he was in the right position around now. Finally it's time to get honest with the Channel Mum.
The good, the bad and the ugly of being 32 weeks pregnant. The good. Hospital backpacking is really
really exciting. Have you chosen baby's first outfit? Have you got some nice new pajamas for
you? Have you chosen what baby's going to go home in? It's so much fun so let us know down in the
bad. If you are still at work then you may find these last few weeks really hard going especially
if you've got a long commute like I had. It was awful but the end is in sight so make sure you
rest when you can and if you're struggling don't push yourself too hard. It's really not worth it
and work should be there to support you. And the ugly. Amidst all of this hospital backpacking
you've probably met or been reacquainted with the delightful maternity pad. Crikey they're pretty
much like lady nappies aren't they but you'll be thankful of them soon enough. So as always we hope
you've enjoyed watching our textbook versus the truth about being 32 weeks pregnant. We'd love to
hear from you and hear how you're doing and how you're feeling so let us know in the comments
below and let us know your g-date as well and how long you've got left exactly and if you'd like
something to watch after this then why not check out all the other vlogs from other mums who are
also 32 weeks pregnant right now over on Channel Mum. We'll leave the link down below for you. So
that's it from us here at Channel Mum. We hope that you and baby have a lovely week
and we will see you next week for week 33.
