I love this. I love it. I love it. I haven't fished in any snow like that this year. Neither have I. When you were with your dad it wasn't like that? No, there was not a single thing of snow on the ground. Not even like a snow pile. Dang. So this is completely different from like two days ago. Conditions are looking good. The river's sitting at a pretty nice level. The water temperatures are right around 40 degrees, which is that mark where a steelhead can start getting finicky, but anything higher than 40 those fish should be biting pretty good. Especially with this higher water. I'm out today with the homie Owen. How's it going guys? We're going out and we just got a bunch of fresh snowfall. We're freaking praying that the boat launches and just absolutely covered in snow. I am straight pressed on my brakes, dude. Oh my god, dude. This is sketch. This is sketch. I'm straight sliding, bro. I am straight sliding. I looked down and there was just a slick ice track of like... That was terrible. Dude, my heart is pounding. Dude, I was so scared. This was the hardest earned freaking fish I've had in a minute, but this is what winter fishing's all about. Took me on one of the very last holes of the day. Insane fight. Nice, hot chrome fish. Couldn't ask for anything better this time of year. This is, like, your pinnacle December fish. Let's let him go. That's just a butterball, dude. Is that not the sickest build on a fish? Dude, it's so fat. This thing's awesome. Good, healthy release. Good stuff. Assholes, like, we're done. We gave up. Yeah, we were about to go home. This is it. Like, we're done. Thank goodness we stuck it out. That was sweet. Freaking sweet. Hard work pays off, man.
