How To Decorate With Handmade Wood Signs + My Favourite Places To Find Them.

Hi friends, Christy here from making it in the mountains.com and today after so many requests here on YouTube and over on my Instagram, I am so excited to finally be sharing a tour of all of the handmade wood signs around our home, how I decorate with them and where I found them. Welcome back to my channel. Thank you so so much for joining me today. As I said, this video has been such a long time coming. I've had a ton of requests about all of the wood signs around our home, whether it's how I decorate with them or where I find them. The wood signs around our home are some of the most asked about decor items. Now, I really love decorating with wood signs as you'll see through this video. There's actually a few reasons that I tend to use them in my decor. I really love the warmth that they bring to a space, whether it's in the kitchen or even a bathroom, wood signs are easy to use in every room of the house. I also really like how easy they make filling a really large empty wall space. So whether you put them together to make a gallery wall or even just hang one large wood sign, I think it brings such a simplicity to a large area without overwhelming the space. And finally, one of my very favorite things about decorating with wood signs is the ability to bring such meaningful words into our home. Now, judging by the amount of questions I get about the wood signs that I share over on Instagram or that you might see on my YouTube channels through my home tours, you all really love wood signs too. So today I am really excited to take you on a tour through our home to show you how I've used wood signs in pretty much every space and where I found them. All right, so let's get this tour started. So my love for wood signs is obvious right from the moment you walk into our home. I've always loved this home is wherever I'm with you sign. Not only is a perfect pop of contrast with that black background, but the words are actually from one of our wedding songs, so it's extra special. This pretty sign is one of the first things you see when you walk into our home. Whether it's here on my YouTube channel, over on Instagram, or even friends that come into our house in person, this gather sign is probably one of the most asked about signs in our home. And I think it looks so perfect hanging in our dining area. Our front living room has a couple of matching signs as well. These were custom made by a friend here in my hometown. I love the simplicity that they bring to the space, and I especially love how meaningful these words are to our family. Now down the hallway to our mudroom and back family room, you'll notice a few more signs too. Down the right hand side of my hallway, I've hung a collection of family photos that are matted and framed out in wood. These are made by the same friend that made the signs in the front living room, and I just love the warmth that they bring to this space. You'll see a couple more signs in our laundry and mudroom space. This one that I have propped up on the counter features one of my very favorite quotes. And then the black family sign hanging on the wall brings a nice little pop of contrast. Okay, so this sign hanging in our back family room is hands down one of the most asked about signs in our home. Every time I share a picture of it, I get tons of questions about where I found it. So like all of the other signs, you will find a link to it in the description box below. This huge sign was the perfect way to fill a big empty wall space without totally overwhelming the room. And I love how great it pairs with those lanterns hanging on either side. And no surprise, the signs continue upstairs as well. This one is right at the top of our stairs, and then you can see just past that, we've actually got one hanging in our main bathroom as well. Our master bedroom features a few more wood signs too. This beautiful grateful sign hanging over our bed is another favorite of mine. It's the perfect reminder for gratitude as we begin and end each day. And these mismatched wood signs were the perfect way to dress up this little corner. With its rustic cabin feel, Carson's bedroom turned out to be the perfect place to hang a few more wood signs. And finally, Carson's playroom features this fun gallery wall of wood signs, which make for the perfect rustic touch above his little desk.
