Super Crew
Hello folks, the 2017 Ford F-150s are starting to arrive on Canadian lots and I'm going to
do as many videos as I can as we get them in.
Today we're going to be looking at the 2017 Ford F-150 XLT Special Edition Package.
I did the Lariat and now I'm going to show you the XLT.
Let's take a look.
So a lot of unique features as we take a look at the exterior of this vehicle.
This one is the crew cab in the magnetic grey, gorgeous color, doesn't show a lot of dirt.
And you can see with this Special Edition Package, we do have the nice red branding
all throughout the vehicle.
Starts off right on the Ford F-150 badging, as you can see.
The mirrors are breakaway mirrors and you do have your signal indicators right on the
outside as well.
With the Special Edition Package, you do get these nice side decals, which gives it a nice
sporty look, and the black running boards as well.
So this one is the 3028 Package, which gives you a ton of features.
Being the Special Edition, you get the hood decal on the front, and it does cover this
dark, tarnished, village-style hood here.
And of course, this Ford gives you the front matching bumper.
You have your block connection there, and 3028 tow hooks there.
The 3028 also comes with the halogen headlights and your LED fog lights down below.
So when you upgrade to the XLT Special Edition Package, you do get the bigger rims.
This one comes with the 20-inch tarnished, dark-painted wheels, and as you can see,
they are on the Dyna-Pro Hanook tires, which we fill with nitrogen here at Mike Knapport.
So normally, these XLTs do come with chrome bumpers and a chrome front grille.
This one, being the Sport, you eliminate those, and you get the matching painted front bumper
and the center console in the center.
Again, we have our F-150 badging in the back.
Like I said, you have the matching gray bumper there that comes with the Sport Package.
And with our Special Edition Package, you do get the bumper decal there.
The backup camera is right below the tailgate, and it is a locking tailgate.
So you can't get in the vehicle or get in the tailgate when the vehicle's locked.
You can see we do have our four backup sensors right on the back bumper here,
making it easy to park our trailer tow connectors and our trailer tow hitch there.
The 302A Package does come with the trailer tow hitch package.
This one is the 5-liter V8, so it can tow up to 11,000 pounds,
and it has a ton of easy-to-use features when you're towing,
like the Dynamic Hitch Assist and the Backup Camera and Backup Assistant.
Let's take a look at the rear.
Now with this aluminum body, the tailgate is extremely light.
And let's jump in.
This one is the 5.5-foot box, a shorter wheelbase.
It's a 145-inch wheelbase.
Comes with your four spots for all your tie-down cleats and the regular four tow hooks as well.
If you also take a look in the 302A Package, you do get the LED box lighting,
which is going to be great when you're doing those jobs in the evening when it's dark out.
Let's take a closer look under the hood.
The hood there, and it does come with the 5-liter V8 engine.
This one's perfect for towing.
It's going to tow up to 11,000 pounds.
Everything that you need.
It's going to push out about 385 horsepower.
And it has a max payload capacity in the back bed of 3,200 pounds.
It's rated at about 10.6 liters for every 100 kilometers on the highway for fuel mileage.
It's going to come with the Ford Standard Factory Warranty.
Three years, 60,000 bumper-to-bumper.
Five-year, 100,000 for your powertrain.
And five-year roadside assistance North America-wide.
Five liters, great for that low-end torque.
Perfect for towing.
It gives you a ton of power.
So let's unlock this Ford F-150 and take a closer look.
Again, with the 302A, you do get the remote start right on the key,
the lock, the unlock, and the panic button.
You also get the Ford signature key pass right on the door,
so you can access the vehicle without your key.
And let's take a look at the inside.
So with the Special Edition package, again, we continue with the red theme all throughout.
You do get this nice 10-way adjustable power seat.
It is a heated front seat, and it does have the nice red stitching and inserts,
giving that sporty look.
The headlights are all automatic with the 302A,
and you do have your power adjustable pedals as well.
So now as we move on to the interior of the vehicle,
there's a ton of features that come in this 302A package.
Right away, we have the 4x4 here.
You can switch on the fly right into your 4H.
Very convenient.
And we do have the trailer backup assist,
which is going to make it very easy to connect to your trailer.
Again, in the 17, they obviously went with the new SYNC 3 entertainment system.
I love this entertainment system.
You can check out my other video if you want a full walkthrough of how it works.
But basically, you can do all the nav, the phone, the radio,
and it sounds great coming out the speakers.
Our heating and air conditioning controls are all down below,
as well as our heated seat controls are here.
Very simple.
We do have some storage as well in the center console here,
with the two illuminated USBs and a spot for our business cards, cell phones, and pens.
Our cup holders are down below.
This one is the sport package,
so it does come with the center console that you see here,
and the shifter right in the middle there.
It's also going to give you the sport mode and tow haul modes,
which will allow you to shift gears manually
and get an accurate low-end torque that you need for towing.
The red stitching continues throughout the center console,
which makes it look great.
And it's got this very, very deep center console.
As you can see, you can fit whatever you need in here.
Now, let's take a look at the steering wheel.
It is a leather-wrapped wheel with the red stitching on the inside.
It does come with our cruise control, our Bluetooth control, our radio controls,
and our middle controls for the vehicle information screen,
which we'll take a closer look at.
Okay, so one thing I like about these 302A packages
is they added this vehicle information screen
where you can do things like your kilometers to empty,
your fuel mileage, your towing modes,
your trip computers, and your off-road calculators there,
all done right on the main screen,
and the controls are right on the wheel.
We also get these added gauges up top
and the sport branding right on our tachometer there.
So it continues with the theme of the red throughout the vehicle,
which gives it a nice sporty look.
So in the 302A, you do get the power sliding rear window
as well as the defrost back on your rear window.
So this one being the crew cab, there is a ton of space back here.
Let's take a look.
Okay, let me hop in and I'll show you here.
So now that I'm on the inside of the crew cab,
you can see how much space there is.
I like the red stitching as well.
It goes on from the front to the back
and is integrated into the seatbelts there.
You also get for your passengers two added USBs in the back,
the 110-volt inverter there
and the 12-volt inverter there for all your accessories.
And when you're not using the rear seats,
you can fold them up and you can see there's a ton of space there.
You buy things at IKEA, lots of room for them,
and all your tools can go in the workbench there.
So thank you very much for watching my video
of the 2017 Ford F-150 XLT Special Edition.
Don't forget, my name is Christopher
and we're right outside of Mike Knapp Ford here in Welland, Ontario.
