Wowee, that jump's huge.
Right, well, welcome back to the quarry, everyone.
And finally, the time everyone's been waiting for,
including ourselves.
C-Dog's up here at the machine, Andy's out at the loader,
and we're gonna start off with a little evening test session
of the jam line, after a big old day of digging.
And yeah, here it goes, basically.
It's been three weeks of solid building.
Now it's time to see if it works.
You have to be there.
Righty.
Oh, whoa!
Nice, I'm gonna do that first one to the left,
first of all.
Ha ha ha, that's well good.
First runs, top to bottom.
Feels a little bit different than an excavator.
The trail snail is the best.
Boys are very hyped, the Austrians are hyped.
Austrians are hyped, I'm hyped.
I did the first go just straight,
which worked really cool.
It's like a trick line, maybe, for everyone to warm up on.
But there's also the right hip,
which continues down the hill,
which the other boys just rode,
and made it look awesome.
So I'm gonna go join them,
with a full, hopefully, top to bottom run.
Right, come on, Andy.
Ankle is itching.
The loader, come test her.
Loader!
Oh!
All right, into the berms.
Whoa!
Oh, yeah!
That's actually a wicked line, isn't it?
Just what we wanted, a nice little warm-up line.
In case it's windy, in case it's a bit wet.
That's proper good.
That looks too good.
First flip at Audi Nines 2021!
That's sick.
It's quite fun, isn't it?
Yeah.
But we do, we kind of all keep casing it.
Go faster into it, then.
So we need to go faster, yeah,
or we're thinking maybe,
because it's quite a harsh landing,
and it's meant to be just the purest,
funnest, epic trick jump,
maybe to bring the landing up a little bit.
But ride it a few more times.
Maybe we'll put more sand on.
Exactly.
And it'll bring it up higher and taller.
Exactly, so you don't fall quite so much.
And closer, and smaller gap,
and more room for stunts.
Ride it a few more times,
but that's what I thought after riding it five or six times.
But I've hit it once.
His first try,
because you were right there.
You were right at the top.
Nice.
Nice, Hodge!
Yeah, Hodgey!
Just did his signature move,
which is just drop in and try everything.
Without telling the world.
Without telling anyone.
He went pretty perfect, I would say.
Yeah, it looked really good.
That's too good.
That looked mint, actually.
I just need to give it a session now.
But it all worked.
All right, moved on to the slope line, then.
Dropping in, into the quarter.
Follow you, Hodge.
All right.
You're sick, that quarter.
Woo-hoo!
For God's sake!
Oh, no!
That's quite awkward when there's a guy
just spinning around in front of you.
Your first try.
Nice one!
Yeah, sorry for the swear, Internet,
but that was stupid.
Such a guy to follow.
Second run through backflips.
Yeah, on everything.
Alternative start.
Yeah.
Alternative start, into the slopestyle course.
Check this out.
Whoa, the freerider!
He's going for it, he's going for it!
Oh, no!
Little short.
Yeah, Hodge.
Yeah, way nice and straight.
My bike is so sick, I can't do it.
Because the speaker is facing the other way.
The quarter pipe itself looks amazing.
Yeah, quarter pipe's so good.
I can't wait to get some full speed into it, actually.
So, I didn't know it could get better than last year,
and without knowing what's changed,
it's somehow so good.
Yeah, it's a little bit soft down there, isn't it?
But that's just brand new softness.
That's gonna go hard soon.
The sun will fix that, for sure.
But this landing's been in for a couple of days.
Yeah.
It's rock hard.
Yeah.
That one's literally two days old or something.
Yeah, so that's why it's a bit soft.
And rain.
Great shape, isn't it?
So good, it works so perfect.
I mean, yeah, why not?
There's actually wood screwed into the take-off still there,
for when the guys are putting the branding on.
He just can't wait,
just climbed up the landing to try more stuff.
Yeah, good.
Shredder.
Ultimate shredder.
Can't see it, damn snail.
One pedal, and that was quite a lot, wasn't it?
Yeah, it was quite deep.
Epic.
It's quite epic, this one, right?
It looked really good, yeah.
Epic?
Oh, the quarter pipe is sick.
I'm going again and just doing that.
Oh, how is it that good?
Not boosting or pumping or anything.
And you can just see it,
so you can just air into exactly where you want to land.
Really good.
Fantastic quarter pipe.
So much better than last year.
That's probably the biggest air time
for softest landing I've ever experienced.
I've got the wobbling.
Yeah, yeah.
Yes.
I'm glad that you're saying this.
Yes.
It's good.
Cheese diet's good.
Looking good, guys.
Feels amazing.
It's insane, actually.
So, so bombing, but so smooth at the same time,
like insane air time,
then you don't even feel like you're landing.
One thing is, because this hip landing is so much taller
and steeper and more insane than last year,
we have a bit more speed for this rocket launcher thing.
So, I think we should make it one,
if not two meters longer,
but maybe we'll jump the hip first.
So, we'll probably do that tomorrow.
We'll get the guys to take all their branding wood off
and give it a hit.
More testing, testing.
Yeah, but epic, epic two hours of test sesh, actually.
How insane was it that the whole bottom section just worked?
Everything works.
There's like a few tiny tweaks, but nothing major.
And that's going to take it from like 80% to 100%,
which is what we need.
Still a little bit soft as well.
And I'm going to get some sun bakage.
Yeah, it is wet still.
It'll be really, really fast.
I'm going to put my big hat on for doing the drop and stuff.
And that hip's actually so gnarly.
I'm going to put my big helmet on tomorrow.
Yeah, I might put like pads and shoes on as well.
Real shoes, not your garage shoes.
Maybe not my Christmas socks.
I'm so crap at that stuff.
I don't want to test this thing.
Oh my God.
You okay?
Didn't really need to go that fast, did it?
It just disappeared.
I did go a little bit deep, but not too bad.
Really soft.
Wowee, that jump's huge.
Dude, you went so high and then just disappeared.
Like, completely disappeared.
Oh, here he comes, down the hill.
Let's speed them.
He's like not even a real person.
That's ridiculous.
I thought you weren't going to do it on the hardtail.
Yeah, I wasn't, but stupid Hodge just has to jump
literally everything and make me excited.
And then feel bad to have to jump it as well.
But I'm glad he did, because that was amazing.
That's one of the bigger jumps I've done on the hardtail,
that's for sure.
But you land like, you've barely taken off,
like the landing is so perfect.
People are going to go completely crazy on this jump.
That's like ultimate airtime and maximum safety.
Thumbs up for the big air then.
Insane thumbs up for the big air.
Didn't even want to hit it, but yo, just doing good.
That is so good.
It's like so big, but so easy.
You could almost say, you could almost go as far as to say,
dreams, dreams.
Oh!
Cheers.
Cheers, man.
Good riding.
Oh, beer tastes so good,
but just a little bit less good than Monsoonergy.
Right, so we're back again,
it's the next day in the quarry,
for another day of testing.
As you can see, Hodge is back,
and we've both got our rigs,
which means probably extreme biking.
But we're just going to warm up on the slopey line again,
get back into it.
I've not ridden actually this bike since Darkfest,
and I guess nor have you.
No, just trying to get used to it actually.
So yeah, make sure all the bolts are done up
before we head over to the big mamas over there,
which is the scariest thing to test.
Ah, sick on the big bike.
So you may have noticed,
the landing's taller on that last jump.
Seadog worked on that this morning,
to change a few of the problems we had yesterday.
Well, not problems,
we just thought it could be better.
I might try a flip right now.
That's how good it is.
Probably going to under rotate.
Well, yeah, what a tiny and fun jump.
Perfect for chucking moves
that you're not so confident on.
Cool, there we go.
Little 360 on the rig.
Perfect example of why that jump's going to be great.
You can just try some stuff out.
Now, time to get some more speed
back onto the slope line again.
Yeah, and then get ready for the big drop up top,
which we've not hit yet.
I reckon it's going to be really good,
but it's definitely gnarly.
Full speed for sure.
Definitely.
You're going to have to go hard and deep.
Yeah.
Cool, there it is.
Big slope drop.
Still bits of wood screwed into here
to keep the branding nice,
but we're just going to have to kind of go around that,
aren't we?
That'll be all right.
Looks good.
Yeah, it does look good.
Rock, paper, scissors,
or should I just give it a crack?
Should we just try it in the whole line?
Yeah, all right.
Yeah, I'm probably going to put one pedal in.
I'd rather go like faster
and race jump than bomb.
Actually more scared about the hip, really.
You might just do it.
I'll have a look.
Yeah, all right.
It's windy, isn't it?
Wait for the wind to stop.
Yeah, and then we'll go.
I'm trying like filming mode.
Filming mode?
Filming mode, yeah.
Cool.
I'm actually nervous about the hip and the drop, but.
Yeah, but it's like both hits, isn't it?
Figure it out, won't we?
Following?
Yeah, go on then.
All right, here it goes.
Nothing.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, that is sick.
That is actually so sick.
How good?
Is the hip?
That hip's insane.
Let's go do that again.
Oh, wow.
You were right, I went deep.
On the drop.
I didn't pedal too, and it was perfect.
Yeah.
No, just squashed it.
It could be a meter bigger,
and it would probably be a bit better.
You just go so hard on that hip.
And land like butter smooth.
It's the hip and the quarter,
that's this year's like improvement, right?
Really good, yeah.
Now that the drop is that meter longer,
it's good that the gap is a bit bigger for the hip.
Carry more speed.
Yeah.
That was good.
That was really, really good.
That hip's amazing.
It's sick how it's just like.
Well, you just know when you come into it,
you're like, oh, it's just gonna be perfect,
so you can blast it.
The whole course is long, Steve.
So a 90 degree hip, it's so smooth.
Like normally you get a bit of like.
Yeah, not if you make that in that steep.
Let's go again.
So fun.
Here goes Haji.
Yeah, it's all right.
Ooh.
Yes.
Really good.
That's really good.
Well good.
That is well good.
Well.
Yeah, the drop's pretty cool, I think.
I'm not really like a drop guy,
but I think people will like that.
But I am definitely a hippie guy,
and that is the best.
Yeah, I can't believe two guys,
you can already go that high.
Oh, some doubles.
Oh yes, you can go underneath.
Yes, Steve.
Yeah!
Oh, that's well good.
Ooh, way to fodder.
So tired from the walk up,
but as soon as you get to the top,
you're like, oh, of course I'm gonna do another go.
Is that good?
Oh, that's so dream.
Whoa!
How perfectly landed.
Yeah.
Jesus, that's sick.
How is it that high in the sky?
Too good.
That is too good.
Let's go.
It's gonna be bad for every other feature.
Let's go hit the free ride line.
Weather's quite perfect, isn't it?
Where are we going, Seadog?
The top of the free ride line.
Yes, we are.
Poirot's back to watch his creations get ridden,
and I've done up all the bolts on my bike.
So now it's quiet, which is really nice.
So I'd say the free ride line
is actually the scariest and gnarliest thing to test here,
which is why we've left it until last,
but everything else has worked amazingly.
So fingers crossed this will as well.
Now that, look at Seadog,
quite literally strutting to the top.
I think he's hungry for first hits in the free ride line.
It's because you've not let him test anything yet.
No.
You haven't even looked at it,
and you're already jumping it.
Yeah, I guess so.
Let him do something.
Yeah, sorry.
Just too excited and propping myself.
Yeah.
I reckon it's totally fine.
I'm not gonna go and pretend like I wasn't scared of this one
after just riding a big effort.
Now I'm here, it's scary.
Seadog's just got that kind of look in his eyes
that he might try and do a top to bottom first go.
Hungry for it, ain't he?
Yeah, so good.
He's been a digger for two weeks.
Now Seadog's got to eat.
Oh, here he goes.
So scary.
Yo.
Whoa.
Yeah, Seadog.
Yeah.
Yeah, Seadog.
Thank God.
But, worrying why he didn't do the step up.
Hmm, because that's not a scary one.
That might mean he's got no speed.
Yes, Seadog.
Get ready.
That looks sick.
This sick.
All the way down to the step up, eh?
Yeah.
First try.
Yeah.
And a bit drifty on the berm there, eh?
So I think you could have carried more speed.
It feels like it's mellower than the years before.
I don't know.
You were quite like inside,
and you went like, yuck.
You were like trying to cairn rocks in the berm, it looked.
Oh, that's how it looks?
Yeah, it looked.
So I think if you did like a big curve,
you'd carry more speed next time.
So scary up there.
Yeah.
Right, so no brakes for the hip.
But not really pumping, right?
Gets the old heart going up here, doesn't it?
Maybe you're a little bit fast out of there.
Such an extreme start to the line, isn't it?
Such a big jump, huge hip, completely blind.
Off a gnarly drop as well,
which I haven't even really thought about yet.
All right.
See you at the bottom.
See you at the bottom, see you there.
Let's do it.
Yo!
Whoa!
Yes!
Yo!
Woo!
Yo!
Yes!
Oh, that is too good!
Yes, boys!
We've built a good line there.
Can't believe I went top to bottom.
Didn't even want to do that,
just the excitement was too much.
And everything worked too good.
That is a sick line.
You have to pedal a bit for the step-up.
Maybe that's going to go harder
after you've ridden it a bit more.
It's still a bit soft and new,
but even so, that is mega.
What a cool line.
Yeah, Hoshi.
Drop it!
But the edge is hard.
Ha ha!
Oh!
Yeah, did you hit the pole?
That's going to take five minutes.
Oh, my!
Yes!
Yes, Egon!
Yeah!
Ha ha!
Yeah, mate!
Yeah!
How good is that?
Nice one, Dai.
Dude, that is so sick.
Way better than last year, huh?
Yeah!
Yeah, boy.
That is a sick line, isn't it?
Yeah, super sick.
How's your ankle?
Oh, I tweaked it hard.
It was like, ow!
And then now it's fine.
All from the keys.
True, but we can have a bit of a chill now.
Everything in the quarry is hit.
Yeah.
And it's mega.
Everything is hit!
Yeah!
We literally rode everything,
and not really any changes, no?
Yeah.
So sick, actually.
So, so sick.
So good we've come back for another one.
Yeah.
Well, second day of testing that was, wasn't it?
Oh, it was good.
Everything in the whole quarry is ridden,
which is amazing.
And everything's really good, so I can't wait.
Everyone comes in, what, two days time?
And the event starts.
Oh, sick.
That's amazing.
Nice.
Yeah, I think so.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Yeah, quite amazing, actually.
21 features, and they all were completely insane.
Yeah, basically Audi nines.
2021, it's going to be the sickest ever,
but I can't believe this quarry playground of doom
is so good.
And that's that.
Watch out for the videos coming next week.
Everyone's coming.
It's going to be a good blast,
and everyone's going to send it.
Boys and girls.
Got to go off.
Yeah.
Make sure you check it out.
Yeah.
Thanks for watching.
Bye.
See you later.
In a bit.
