Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. Today's video I will be decorating my
front porch for Christmas and I'm using a lot of thrifted items.
I know these little trees you guys probably saw in a previous video when I
did one of my thriftmas hauls. So I am showing you guys right now how
I am flocking this tree. I've been promising this
video for a few weeks now and I just haven't had it all the way
done but that's what we're doing here today.
So when it comes to flocking any type of garland or Christmas tree
all you do is spray the tree with water, that's all that's in this water bottle
and then you will sprinkle the flock all over the tree and then you're going to
go back over it again with some water. So you're just
going to keep spraying, add some flock if you want more, then you
spray it again, add some flock but you want to finish it off with a
good spray. That will make the flock go hard but just
so you guys know it will take about 24 hours for the flock to
fully go hard. I did string some Christmas lights on this tree before I
decided to flock it. I feel like that will just hide the lights a little bit
better so if you are flocking a tree this year
that is what I would suggest if you need to also string it with lights.
I'm just showing you guys a few different things that I have flocked.
Some garlands and then also a wreath. This is not going to be in this video I
just wanted to show you guys a few different examples
of the way I flock. Now for this wreath I have a little hand strainer
and I just picked this up from Dollar Tree. I was just using a spoon
for the last few things but to give it that really pretty snowy mist
all over the tree you'll want to use some kind of strainer so I would
definitely suggest picking up just a cheap one from Dollar Tree
and this will get the job done. This flock I actually purchased off Amazon
and I got a five pound bag. I have flocked so many things guys and you can't
even tell I've touched it so I don't think you'll need this much
unless you're doing a huge tree but I will have this linked in the
Okay now I will just be decorating my porch.
This green trunk was picked up from our thrift store for
five bucks and I felt like this was the perfect thing to put in the corner over
here and I love that the inside of the trunk
was red so I thought I'll open it up and I'll set these two
Christmas trees in here that were also thrifted
as well as this blanket. So everything in this corner right here cost me only
Now I will just be hanging some garland on the railing. I have never done this
but this garland is actually a few years old
and I picked it up at Hobby Lobby.
Okay now moving on to another DIY project. I picked up five of these packs
of Christmas trees. They're only five dollars at Hobby Lobby
and then I went to Dollar Tree and I grabbed just a few different sizes
of these plastic cups as well as these little buckets.
I wanted these trees to look like they were inside of jars so I will be
spray painting these cups this matte cream color and then I'm actually
also going to be spray painting the Christmas trees. I don't like the
bluish tone that they have so I got this green spray paint and I
was a little bit nervous but I love the color of these now. So if you
guys are on the hunt for some of these bottle brush
trees and you don't like the color you can honestly spray paint them
any color. I was a little unsure of how this would turn out. I did give most of
them a good two coat so that's just something I would suggest.
If you're going to be spray painting them a completely different color
like if they were red and you're spray painting them yellow then you'll
probably need a little bit more spray paint but I
definitely think spray painting is a great option.
I've seen these jars at Dollar Tree for quite a while now and I thought these
would look really cute with some tea lights in them
and I'm just going to set these on my porch around these little Christmas
trees. By the way for the bigger trees I
actually hot glued those into the cups. The rest of them just kind of stuck
right inside. The next thing I wanted to do is just add
a little bit of greenery on this thrifted sled that I picked up.
So I grabbed these sticks for 98 cents a piece from Walmart
and I'm just going to be sticking them where I think they'll look really nice.
I thought I would need hot glue but honestly I was able to just kind of
shove them underneath and they held on really well.
These mittens were actually ornaments that I found at Walmart as well.
I picked up this North Pole mailbox from Walmart and it was only $13.
I've seen these all over the place for $25, $30
and even $40 so I thought I definitely scored finding this at Walmart.
Okay guys well that's everything for this video. Thank you so much for
watching. If you have not yet hit that red subscribe button
