Daily Cat Care Basics & Routines with Multiple Cats

I can't really get out of bed because they're still sleeping. Oh hi, hi. Are you getting out? Are you getting out? Okay, all right. There's still one more buddy. Buddy. They're just kind of waiting for me because I'm still in bed. And usually when they know that I'm up, most of the cats are in the room. So there's one, two, there's three, four, there's five, six, seven. Hey, there's eight and nine. Hey blue cat, good morning. I think buddy might want to stay here. It's getting really cold in Hong Kong and my bed has the heated mattress on. I think he wants to stay here. Okay buddy, trying to get out of bed with buddy still in it. It's kind of hard. Okie dokes, getting out of bed. Let's see what today has got to offer up. What's this? Hairballs. All right, got some freshly produced hairballs. Hey Gogo, is that yours? Whose hairballs is this? All right, gonna get that cleaned up. Okay, clean up is rather simple. Just get some wet naps. All right, pick up some of this. Lift up the carpet squares infected, just in case any got through. Wipe, wipe, wipe. Oh, there's another one. So rinse and repeat. Get rid of this. Wipe, wipe, wipe, wipe. All right, we're good. As you can see, they're probably waiting for breakfast. But one characteristic of my house is that they don't meow or bite me for, you know, to wake me up for food. They basically wait until I wake up. I know, come on. Let's go, kitties. Let's go. Wow, look at what they did to this box. Amazing. Hey, spidey cat. Good day to you, spidey cat. You want some donuts? You want some donuts in the elevator, bud? Okay, come on. All right, everyone to the kitchen. Hi, kiddos. Yeah, Gogo? First things first, put the soiled carpet squares into the washing machine. I left out some wet food in the kitchen overnight. I guess I cleared all that. Put this into the sink. Okay. Yep, usually quite the choir. And overnight, I left out some dehydrated raw meal and finished that, of course. Good, good. Okay, come on, kitties. All right, breaky time. Say breaky time. Breaky time. Okay, okay. Okay, should we do wet food first or dry food? Some crumbs on the floor. Benefits of using a handheld vacuum. In this case, it's a Dyson. Super good one. Mui Mui and Strawberry is on a different diet lately. Mui Mui's got some stomach troubles, while Strawberry has some liver problems. So there's some difficulty in terms of feeding. Okay, Mui Mui and Strawberry's kibbles are here. This is for the sensitive stomach. So both of them are on the same one. And we have to be eating small meals. So these are for Mui Mui and Strawberry. But all the cats are going to get to their food once I start feeding them. What I'm going to do is going to scoop and drop off these ones to the cats first. No, Mui Mui, you can't get to this. Okay, so this is for the other cats. Okay, ready? Okay, come on, come on. Well, they can actually eat hers just for sensitive stomach, but that's okay. Put the appropriate cat over there. And Mui Mui eating hers. Strawberry, this is yours. No, you guys got your own over there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just gotta keep an eye on everyone now. Spuddycat, there's one right behind you. Spuddycat, Spuddycat. Spuddy. There's one here. Some food is here. All right, we're good to go. Okay, come on. Oh, Mui Mui, no, no, no, you're not eating Spuddycat's. Okay, now all I have to do is just make sure that everyone's eating their dish. Mui Mui is. So strawberry. Good. Blue cat's eating hers. Coco's eating his. A few of my cats, they really like to eat on the kitchen counter, so basically I have to wipe it right after. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is her strawberry. They like to get into each other's food, even if they have their own. Strawberry, this is yours. Okay, there you go. Uh-oh, fatty Mui Mui's trying to get into the other ones. No, no, no, that's, that's not yours. That's not yours. Cannot, cannot. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. So I have to wait until everyone's done, and then I have to pick up all the plates. Strawberry, did you just finish all yours? Yeah? Did you? Do you still want some more of his? That's it? You're all done? Actually, Sir Carlos, you know this is Betty's spot. Would you like to swap with him? Here. Yeah, he can eat here. It's the same food. It's the same kibbles. This is Betty's favorite spot. Right, Betty? Meanwhile, Mui Mui, I know what you're eyeing. I know you're thinking about it. I knew it. I know you're moping around. No, no, no, no, Mui Mui. Mui Mui. Mui Mui, Mui Mui. No, no, no. Let's get out of here. Let's get out of here. All right, after everyone's done, put the stuff in the sink. Oh, she's trying to scoop other people's leftovers. Mui Mui, no. Mui Mui, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's not for you. That's not for you. Betty. Kitto, so the cats are done. There's some leftovers. Usually I don't collect it, but because one cat is on a diet, which is her, so she's looking at leftovers. So I'm doing mini meals throughout the day right now and any leftovers gets collected. Sorry, Mui Mui. We're going to have to help you lose some weight. I don't have the habit of procrastinating, especially when it comes to dishes because they really pile up. Oh, don't forget to pour this out. Some people might tell me, why don't I not train my cats to stay off counters? Well, the answer is they only don't do it when you're around. So instead, I just keep them clean and take some clean carpet squares and just replace it in the spots where they were lifted. Good. Love it. Not only is this stuff easy to clean, but it keeps it tracking away from the litter box area. Once in a blue moon, one of my cats would confuse a messy bed with a comfy litter box. So I make sure I make my bed so that won't happen. If you guys are allergic to cats like me, consider brushing your cats daily. Buddy. That along with trimming their nails, I can't promise that it's going to get rid of your allergies completely, but it will help significantly. So be diligent about it and it will pay off in time. As you can see, some cats are more okay with brushing than others, but if you actually put in the time and the patience, usually they're okay with it. One way or another. This is also for their own good too, especially if you've got longer haired cats or really floofy cats, that way they don't have to cough out as many hairballs. And some of you might be wondering, aren't you kind of brushing them hard? Well, it depends on the cat. Some of them have really thick coats and mind you, the brush tips are actually protected by little plastic nibs so it doesn't hurt them. Trust me, I've brushed on myself before to try. I actually get out of the house when the cats are having a good coma. Running some errands at the bank. Someone nearby found a baby cat that they're fostering, so showing some support by donating some goat's milk baby formula. Just finished running all my errands. I think they like to drag her food to eat elsewhere. This time she chews right next to my foot. That's a huge sign of trust. Get some wet naps ready because I think they always make this food trail with their wet food and the meat juice, so I kind of just wipe it as it goes. Oh, there's some more here. Spying on my cats, doing their number one and two. Hey, buddy. And while the stuff is rendering, playtime. Kitties. Mimui, come on. Burn one calorie. Burn one calorie. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Just one calorie. Just, just one calorie. Okay, that was half a calorie. Come on, you can do better. Oh, Carlos. I tried to play with them multiple times a day just to keep their body and their mind active. Very important. And sometimes I think while I'm playing with them, it's a bit of a workout for me. Look at, I'm kind of doing like a half crunch while I'm playing with my cats. I'm leaning back, leaning forward, leaning back, leaning forward. I can feel my abs and my cat probably thinks I'm crazy, but that's okay. Hey, buddy. Hey, buddy. Ready in a few days. Oh, somebody just vomited. Counters are super clean. Gotta make sure that there's enough filtered and boiled water for the kitties. Basically, these are the boiled and filter ones that's cooled down. Some cats can get quite picky with their water, so I make sure I give them very fresh and clean boiled and filtered water that's changed every 12 to 24 hours. Stuff that's here, gotta get rid of this. Scoop the litter. Buddy, I haven't added water yet, and so I'm just going to leave this out reconstituted overnight. Okay, I'll leave this out, and they'll eat it all by the time we wake up tomorrow. Here you go. Got to feed the fishies as well. Something a lot of cat parents don't realize is that their cats get bored and depressed as well, and they, just like us, they need constant stimulation, and they need to burn that energy, too. For me, as I said, I exercise them multiple times a day, so that way they're never too pent up in terms of energy, and they're just not bored. Make sure I have the heated mattress on, getting ready. Buddy, getting ready to go to sleep? End the night with a bit of catnip. Hey, kiddos. I find that they really appreciate this part. Not only do they enjoy a good high, but every now and then, they would get into this little fight from playing. Maybe somebody caught somebody wrong, and there's retaliation. Whatever it is, this will actually bond them again, but that's it. They're not grudgy, so they're good. Okie dokes. Bed is all warmed up, and as you can see, the cats are just getting in position. They're getting ready to sleep. It works like magic. It's wonderful. So this is my typical day, and I'll try to put some related videos that's in the description, and any useful stuff that I've used to make my day easier. Other than that, we're just gonna pass out.
