If you missed my last video on the Red Nose Pit Bull,
I went over a little bit on the history of those dogs and what made them so extravagant.
But today we're going over the Blue Nose Pit Bull.
The Blue Nose Pit Bull is something that I see in very high demand nowadays in 2021.
Almost everybody has them.
Your grandma has them.
Your grandpa has them.
Your mom has one.
Your little brother has one.
They're just in high demand and everyone wants to get their hands on one.
Today we're talking about why that is, a little bit of the history of them,
and what makes them so extravagant.
So let's just get started.
Pit Bulls were originally bred from Old English Bulldogs.
Many other bull breeds such as the Staffordshire Terrier,
Boxer, and Mastiff could also trace their ancestry back to the Old English Bulldog.
Now Old English Bulldogs were the first breed to be used for bull baiting
and other gruesome blood sports.
The Pit Bull was developed during the 19th century when breeders in the United Kingdom
had the idea to cross the athleticism of the Terrier with the strength and muscle of the Bulldogs.
Now we won't go deep into the actual history of Pit Bulls themselves,
as most of the bully breed family has originated from the same history,
but each breed grew into their own lane of dog throughout the years through selective breeding.
If you want to check out another video that I have, the American Pit Bull Terriers 101,
I will put that at the end screen where you can go and click on that to check it out.
One big debatable topic is that the Blue Nose American Pit Bull Terriers did not
exist in the 19th century.
Some believe Blue Nose dogs came about from a crossing of an American Pit Bull Terrier
and a Paw Terrier.
Some say a Black American Pit Bull Terrier can rarely produce a blue pup.
Pit Bull experts such as Richard Stratton vouch the real blue Pit Bull does exist.
Now leave a comment, do you think there is a true American Pit Bull Terrier that's blue?
I'm curious what your opinion is.
What are the common features of the Blue Nose Pit Bull?
Of course their most distinctive feature is right there in the name, the blue nose.
The blue nose of the Blue Nose Pit Bull is simply a recessive genetic trait and does not
determine a dog's breed.
They are also known to appear to be the color blue when the sun is bouncing off their fur.
They are also characterized by their extremely muscular body.
They have an athletic build with a broad chest to provide them with all the power they need.
Pit Bulls also have a large squared head with a short muzzle.
Blue Nose Pit Bulls can often have striking blue eyes or just standard brown eyes.
They are stocky dogs that pack a lot of weight into a small and short body.
Blue Nose Pit Bulls typically only stand 18-21 inches tall but can weigh around 30-65 pounds.
They can also come in white and have a brindle pattern to their fur.
Most pups will have white markings on their face, chest, or feet.
Their fur is short and straight.
It's very soft to the touch.
Because their fur is so short you will not have to worry too much about them shedding.
They will shed in a small amount throughout the year but that can easily be managed.
Now what are the pros and cons of the Blue Nose Pit Bull?
Well let's just say they are very affectionate towards people.
They do have minimal grooming needs compared to other dogs with longer fur.
I believe they are very easy to train.
Again this depends on you as their owner.
But they are very easy to train.
They get the hang of things pretty quickly.
They're gentle and patient with young children as to most of the bull breeds are.
But I can definitely vouch that this dog is gentle and patient with kids.
They are athletic, they're skilled, and they have a nice build to them.
They could participate in canine sports.
Now of course with every dog there comes cons.
So here are some cons of the Blue Nose Pit Bull.
They have high energy.
They are often unethically bred by backyard breeders.
So some of them will have health issues because of that.
They may develop anxiety and sensitivity.
They are also known to have skin allergy issues.
It's very common for them.
They might be more prone to like food allergies, seasonal allergies, and so on.
And they can also have skittish temperaments due to the unethical
breedings that happen in the backyards of people's houses.
Today's Blue Nose dog though does lean more towards the Amstaff and their American Bully
and less towards the real American Pit Bull Terrier.
Overall if you really don't care about if this dog is a true American Pit Bull Terrier or not,
these dogs in my opinion are badass.
So it's undeniable the Blue Nose Pit Bull is not going anywhere.
Some people love them, some people hate them.
If you missed the Red Nose video on me breaking down a little bit more of the history,
I'll put an end screen at the end where you can go click on that and check that out.
Other than that I will see you guys on the next one.
Peace.
