Cycling Across Europe - Episode 3 | France, Switzerland Cycle Trip

I've just been woken up by a thunderstorm. My red bag is soaked, it's got the laptop, cameras and stuff in it. My rash is getting worse, I feel diseased. What just happened Ben? I just crashed the drone. In the last episode of our cycle across Europe, we crossed three countries by cycling from Reims in France to Luxembourg, which is where we currently are. We've made it. This is what it's all for, a nice beer, treated like absolute kings. Look at this, look at this spread. We've just been on the radio. Amazon Emergency Appeal, which is something that WWF is currently running. Fallen 15 metres to the ground, and it was in some German's back garden. Good morning people. May have drank a bit too much last night. We were trying to keep up with the Luxembourg boys. It's gonna be a good night. They drink way too much. But yeah, we're gonna have a bit of a chill done today. Got me a foam roller at last, which means I can do some stretching. Sort out my quads because they are absolutely killing me. But yeah, it's gonna be a nice, relaxing day. Right, we are now leaving Luxembourg, and we're going in a lift to get out of here. We're gonna lift to heaven, isn't it? We have arrived in Metz. We both know absolutely nothing about this city. But from what we've seen so far, it's a pretty cool place. Very modern compared to everywhere else we've seen. This morning we both woke up a little itchy, not having a clue what it was. And then Austin lifted his t-shirt before, and he's got a rash. Great, we're gonna see how it continues. I think it's just a sweat rash. But hopefully we're not being bitten by some kind of French mosquitoes. I don't know. But yeah, hopefully none of us just collapse all of a sudden. But yeah, we'll keep you updated. Hopefully you'll still be alive to continue this vlog. But you never know. What does it say on it? Again, no idea. This time it's actually funny. Yeah, this time I wasn't as lucky as the first time. The camera's popped out of the drone. Hope I'll fix it. I'm gonna try and watch a tutorial tonight. If that doesn't work, we're gonna be in Strasbourg tomorrow. So there should be camera shops there. Hoping it's not too expensive. If it's not, then we'll have some drone footage. But I'm just hoping to get it fixed. Because Switzerland's gonna be crazy for the mountains. So it'd be beautiful to get some shots over the mountains there. But yeah, I'll keep you updated. But for now, it's a sad day. R.I.P. my big mini. Hello. Camp's out for tonight. It's this one. Which is not the one that we were trying to get to. However, it was just along the road. And we still had 8km left. And we thought, you know what? This looks quite nice. Good morning. A really strange thing happened overnight. Me and Austin both woke up with our rashes a hell of a lot worse. Even though it's probably the coolest night we've had. Because we had the wind coming in straight from the water. So yeah, I'm covered in these little red patches. I'm hoping it is just a heat rash. But reading things online, you never know, do you? Drone is currently undergoing surgery. There are so many of these cute little villages everywhere. And all of it looks like it's from the 17th century. I'll show you a few of these buildings now. My rash is getting worse. I feel diseased all the way up here. It's not very nice. It's on my legs. It's on my stomach as well. It's really itchy. Not fun. Bonjour. Right. We may be cheating a little. We're still camping. But we've ended up at a rather nice campsite. With showers and a swimming pool. But it was only €7. But yeah. Thought it would be nice to maybe socialise tonight. Instead of being tucked away in the forest somewhere. Reflections from today. It's been a tough one. It really has. With this all day long. It has just been scratching away. And the heat. You're thinking constantly that we've got to stop. Because of the rash. Because the hotter it gets, the worse the rash gets. But I'm glad we found a campsite tonight. Because I felt we just needed to submerge ourselves under a cold shower. So it's been a lovely evening. But a very tough day. But yeah. Tomorrow we're going to try and get ourselves as close to Basel as we can. So we're skipping Strasbourg now. Because we haven't got really time to get there. So we're just going to start heading south. Down to Basel. 150km it is to get there from here. So we may do it in one day. You never know. We did 115km the other day. So we might be able to do it in one day. But yeah. We'll get up early. Get as far as we can. We'll probably do 100km plus. And then just a little bit more on the Monday morning. But yeah. We'll see how we get on. But for now. Good night. And I'll see you in the morning. We are about 25km left. And it's getting very hot. We've come across this water crop thingy. We're just wondering whether or not we're actually allowed to go in. We think it might be spraying pesticides as well. But any of you farmers out there. Drop me a comment below. Tell me whether or not we should go in. But yeah. We're very tempted. So we're encountering our first bike issue. 600km in. And we've got a flat tyre. Sorry I'm in my boxes. I'm really sorry. By a thunderstorm. And it's. What time is it? It's half twelve. And we have to run outside and grab all of our stuff. Because it is just getting. We've got it covered up by tarp. But it was just getting soaked. Like absolutely soaked. My red bag is soaked. It's got the laptop. Cameras and stuff in it. So if we didn't do that. I think we might have lost them. I'll keep you updated. We survived. Just about. The tent is soaked. Don't even want to go outside. And check on the stuff. My shoes are out there. So they're just going to be ruined. It's not ideal. Hello. Day twelve. A real scary one last night. I actually got woken up by some bright lights. Thinking that it was Austin on his phone. But it turned out. It's actually the lightning just outside of our tent. And yeah we're setting off to Switzerland today. So later on today. We're going to be in our third country. Which is pretty cool. Fourth? Did we enter Germany? Belgium. So France. Oh yeah. Fourth country. Fourth country we did. France, Luxembourg, Belgium. And now Switzerland. See you. See you in a bit. Ciao.
