Good day everyone, Gerold here again from Studio Ploy.
Few days ago, not from today but before the 15th of September, I got an unexpected invite from IKEA
for the opening of their IKEA Christmas shop here in the Philippines. It's going to be their
first because last year they weren't able to launch since they opened sometime around November.
We have the longest Christmas celebration here that begins September 1 which marks the start
of the bear months. So November would be very late for a launch. I moved few of my schedules
for this event because I'm excited to talk about Christmas. It's my favorite time of the year and
actually my birthday falls under the month of December. Anyway, this is my first time doing
this kind of video so please excuse me. Going back, the invite was at 9.30am so I make sure
to leave early at around 8.30am and I filmed a couple of shots earlier. Unfortunately,
I got traffic so I got late and came in 5 minutes before 10. I texted Ms. Talia from IKEA that I'll
just go on with my furniture shopping but she told me to drop by still. So the event starts with
a breakfast at the Swedish restaurant. I wasn't able to film because I wasn't supposed to continue
but lo and behold, I accidentally pressed the video on. By the way, I apologize for this shot
where I filmed my phone while I was taking food and coffee for breakfast. It's going to be my
first time to attend an event like this so I really don't know what to expect and I really
don't know anyone. I first approached Ms. Jade from CNN and slowly felt comfortable now. After
a few minutes of chatting and eating, we were then advised to go to the third floor at the
self-service area for the main event. Even though I was a bit embarrassed because most of them are from
mainstream media, I was able to approach some of them since they were very friendly. This time,
we were walking our way to the self-serve area. The Christmas shop at IKEA is located right at
the entrance to the self-serve area on the third floor. Here, everyone now starts taking photos and
videos. Then, we bumped into Chelsea which is also an influencer. I'm also becoming an influencer
as to film some shots.
Is it bad? I'm doing it.
Oh, it's because of the color.
The color. I'm just reversing it.
That's why this is beautiful because the color is white.
Yes. Let's zoom in a bit.
So, this is it.
There.
There. Bye-bye.
Bye-bye, guys.
Hi, Ms. Jade from CNN.
We're now here at
IKEA Christmas shop.
Yes.
Where's Ms. Ruth?
Somewhere out there.
Is that Ms. Ruth?
There. Let's take a picture.
I've met a lot of good people here.
Ms. Ruth,
I'll join you.
Hi!
From?
What's that?
It's a Christmas tree.
You put it here.
I put it here.
It's nice, right?
It's an alternative.
It's a table top.
Yes, for a table.
So nice.
It's a suggestion.
There. They have a lot to buy.
Yes.
Early Christmas shopping.
Bye-bye.
After we got
mad at each other
and started looking for videos,
I thought,
since I know I don't have
good videos,
is to do a Christmas decor haul
then create Christmas vignette
which I will later share to you.
For the meantime,
join me in choosing
and visiting IKEA Christmas shop.
It was hard for me to choose
because I like a lot of decor here
because it's not the usual
that we see in mosques.
Since makeover
and home decor is our forte
especially for small spaces,
there's a lot here
that will fit like this table top
Christmas tree.
Here, I was mix
and matching some of the items
that I like. I especially
love this LED table top
Christmas tree that's perfect for homes
with limited spaces.
Also love this dome village.
I also like this
snowball so I was really torn
between the snowball and the
dome village.
Other pieces that I
like are this pillar candle holder
in red and white
and the gift boxes.
There are so many beautiful
and affordable choices to choose from
that's why I got all of these.
Let's turn around
for you to see while I'm still choosing.
One last turn
because shoppers are already
starting to come in
and the line might get longer in the cashier.
I'd like to share with you
some pieces that I got at the
IKEA Christmas shop.
Starting with this
tree set wrapper in matt gold
with prints.
Another wrapper
in gold in glossy.
Then,
my favorite, the
Strahla table top Christmas tree.
Next, are the
gift boxes in a
set of three.
Another favorite is this
Strahla domed village.
Next,
are the Christmas balls or
ornaments and
the red ribbon.
This super cute
wooden goat that I thought
was a deer.
these gift tags.
As promised, we are going
to create a vignette.
Let's style most of the items
that we got. For this year,
I wanted the classic Christmas theme
which is more on the red
and green and a little
touches of white and gold.
I prefer this
type of decor because it's easy
to style and very limited
in space for
bigger size decor.
So there you go guys,
our early Christmas decor.
I hope you like it as much as I love
creating this for our humble small
home. Wishing you all
the timeless treasures of Christmas,
the warmth of home,
the love of family and the
company of good friends.
A blessed Christmas season to everyone.
