Welcome back to the channel guys. Today is the battle of the Nissan trucks. We
have the Nissan Frontier and the Nissan Titan and if you're wondering which one
is for you we're gonna go through the ins and outs to help you determine which
one should you buy. So we got the battle of the big cousin versus the little
cousin here. This is just a full-size truck versus a midsize truck battle here.
Now obviously the advantage of going to the smaller truck of the Frontier is the
price savings. We have the Pro 4X model in each package and our Frontier is
gonna have an MSRP of $38,100 USD and our Titan is a little more $51,700 USD for
the MSRP. So big difference in price but also a big difference in size. So you'll
notice right when looking at them that the trucks are pretty much very similar
in styling. Both of them got a recent redesign here. I love what's going on
with the front end. This one has our Titan badging stamped right on the front
and that's also evident right on the Frontier. In the Pro 4X's you get these
nice red emblems here. You have your red front tow hooks on each car but the
difference is under the hood. So let's pop the hoods and check it out. When
comparing the power plants our Nissan Titan comes with the whopping 5.6 liter
V8 engine. It's got about 400 horsepower and 413 pounds-feet of torque. So a lot
more power, you get more towing, 9,000 pounds of towing and a 1,500 pound
payload in the back. You sacrifice a little mileage with the Titan. You got
17 combined MPG under the hood of the Frontier. 3.8 liter V6 with 310
horsepower and 281 pounds-feet of torque. It's attached to a 9-speed automatic
transmission. 6,270 pounds towing and a 1230 payload. So you sacrifice a little
power with the Frontier but you get better fuel economy. More power, less fuel
economy. So when deciding on which truck you buy you want to ask yourself a
couple questions. What are you using it for? Who's riding in it? Do you have
any jobs that you need to do with it? And if you have those big jobs,
construction jobs or maybe you're towing a heavy trailer or something, the Titan
is for you. But when it comes to the exterior, basically they're very, very
similar. Both of them are in this Baja Storm exterior color. With the Pro-4X
package on each, you're gonna get the tubular step rails and then you're gonna
get these nice Pro-4X rims there. With the Pro-4X package on the Frontier and
on the Titan, you'll get the upgraded suspension to put you in those tough
areas. When looking at the Frontier, this one might be better if you live in a
busy city but you do still need a truck. A little easier to maneuver in those
tight parking spots and then you can see the exterior styling is almost identical
to our Titan here. In the bed there, a little different here. Both of them are
gonna come with the 5-foot box and then they're gonna have, with the Pro-4X
package, this nice spray-on bed liner and the Nissan utility track which is
perfect for your accessories. Things like tunnel covers, toolboxes, you can get bed
extenders, whatever you want to tie down. But again, just the payload is different.
This is a little easier to jump in and out of if you know you're doing that,
getting in and out of the bed, than the Titan being a little higher. With this
Titan, you also get this little kick step to make it a little easier to access the
bed but if you're a shorter person, maybe the Frontier is for you. Jumping on the
inside of each car, we're on the inside of the Frontier now and the insides are
very similar. This Frontier is redesigned in 2022 and I love what they
did with the inside here. This red stitching is phenomenal. You can get a
full-on leather package with this. This one is just the cloth seats. With our
Titan, it comes with that leather package that's added on. So in both trucks, to
get leather, you have to add the leather package. This is the biggest difference
between the two. If you got kids or family, this is the back of the Frontier
and you can see I am a little tight. It'd be good for young kids but three
kids back here might get a little tight. The difference is in the Titan, I got so
much more space back here. A lot more comfort, a lot more space. Even if you're
storing things, there's just more space in the Titan and that's why you're going
up to the full size. The inside of the Titan, this one comes with the leather
package like I mentioned. Very, very similar. The center console isn't as kind
of sporty as the Frontier but you get a few added things in this one. You get the
air-conditioned front seats and you get the brake controller as well. So the most
important part of a comparison is how both vehicles drive and right now we're
behind the wheel of the Titan and like I said, this thing is a beast. Like when you
put your foot down, you got tons of power, tons of oomph. This is my favorite Nissan
engine and you know, you got all the horsepower, all the necessary towing here
but obviously you sacrifice the gas. That's the biggest thing. These things,
like they're hogs on gas and they're not the best for fuel economy. That's not why
you're buying this truck. So make sure you know what your priorities are. In
terms of technology, both of them are very, very similar. They're gonna come
with the backup cameras, you have the full around-view monitor, you'll have the
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, large screen. This Titan comes with a fender sound
system while our Frontier, we're gonna check out the sound system once we drive
it here in a minute. Depending on where you like your shifter to be, the Titan is
gonna come with the steering column shifter and the Frontier will come with
the shifter in the center console. A few other features that this one has, I
mentioned the air-conditioned seats, perfect on a day like today. Like it is,
what's it saying, 28 degrees right now here in Niagara, Ontario and you also get
power folding mirrors with this Pro 4X Titan, which is really cool. Helps if
you're in those tight spots and keep your mirrors safe and folded in. In the
Titan, you just have overall more space. Like this is a small bachelor apartment
in here, guys. I got so much space in here and that's the biggest thing. If you
have a large family, this will certainly give you more space, more passenger
volume, more cargo volume and obviously that's the difference between your full
size and your mid-size pickup. In the Frontier, there still is a ton of room
but you just don't have as much space. You can see I'm a little closer to the
camera here but there still is a ton of space and like I said, you have the
center console shifter knob. A few things in the Titan that is gonna come if you
need a brake controller for your trailer, those don't come in the
Frontier. You gotta go up to the Titan for that but both of them have similar
features in terms of technology. Blind spot monitor, forward sensors, you have
the moving object detection in the back, the large infotainment with the Apple
CarPlay and the Android Auto. This Frontier, you'll get the Qi charger while
the Titan, you don't get the Qi charger but you get the air-conditioned seat. So
trade-offs in both, you have speed sign recognition in both cars. Like everything
that Nissan has to throw at them, they've thrown at them. So you guys, it's
just up to you what type of person are you. You work or you more want fuel
economy and cost overall, lower cost of ownership.
I'm sweaty after that battle guys but hopefully this helped you make a buying
decision. Now if it was me, I'd be going with the Frontier. I just love how Nissan
nailed this redesign. I like the better fuel economy, lower price, easier to
maneuver. So this one's for me but if you're using it for heavy jobs and work,
the Titan would be the way to go. Comment below which one do you prefer and as
always, if you're new here, subscribe to the channel. Thank you so much for
watching. Have a great day!
