Hello everyone, back with another non-Snowdonia video (Snowdonia videos will resume this week). I took a last minute weekend trip to Scotland on my own last weekend to try out my newly converted car camper. Loved every second, cannot wait for many more adventures. Let me know what you think. Who else is as in love with Scotland as me? I usually visit Scotland annually, but this year I have a few trips planned to visit Scotland, and I can't wait!
Thanks for watching and all your continued support!

I've converted my car into a mini camper.
I finished work today and I have three days off in a row.
I'm going to Scotland, it's now 9:20 at night.
So that's what I'm doing.
I'm a little nervous but really excited.
So this will be the first night I'll be sleeping in my car.
I thought I'd take you along for my first mini-camper trip.
And you can see how it goes.
I have arrived in Scotland.
I picked this lay-by on Google Maps before I left.
And it's perfect, it's even better than I thought it was going to be.
It's a really quiet road.
I got lucky with it really.
But I've made my little bed.
So I'm all cozy.
It's 2:30 in the afternoon.
Let's see how tonight goes in the first night out in the mini-camper.
It seems quite warm. I've put the foil insulation in the windows.
And it's staying pretty good.
I'm gonna settle down, turn off the lights and hopefully get a few hours.
So I'll see you in the morning.
So the first night was a success.
I'm going to continue on now and drive up north.
We're just at the gas station, I've refreshed myself a little and I feel a lot better.
So I'm going to continue driving.
It feels like we're in Scotland.
But it still feels a little like Wales with the rolling hills.
So we need to head further north and get to the mountains.
I'm only stopping to have some snacks because I'm hungry.
It's 10.11pm and I'm just going to have something to eat quickly.
And then probably carry on a little bit more.
I'm sitting here enjoying the view.
The sun is breaking through the clouds over there on the sea.
It's a little blown up here and it's foggy up there.
So I'm just going to go up there now.
But there's no one on this path.
There's a lot of people in the parking lot and no one's coming up and I don't know why.
Maybe there's something up here.
Yeah, so I'm going to go up there.
Yeah, so I think I'm gonna sleep in my car again tonight.
I was going to pitch my tent somewhere around here.
But it's bitterly cold.
I can't believe there aren't more people up here.
There are so many cars in the parking lot coming and going.
But the view from up here is 10 times better than it is down there.
What a shame.
Well, that was fun.
I'm going to head to the place, well, near the place that I want to go to tomorrow.
And try to find a place to pull in and settle down for the night.
Because I still need to make food.
It's already 7 o'clock.
Time is just flying by.
Fingers crossed and see where we can find it.
I'll show you where I am.
So, I'm just, there's the road.
And it's just in this little forest area by a river.
I don't know, it should be okay there, shouldn't it?
Unless a tree falls on me.
So, this will be home for the night then.
This is the mid-repellent stuff I brought with me.
A head net, just in case they're rampant.
Which, at the moment, they're not too bad.
That's another one, just goes over your head.
This one turns into a hat, so it's pretty good to keep it off your face.
I got some smidge and some Avon Spinso Soft.
So, yeah, they'll probably come in quite useful.
This is my food and snacks.
And I put them all in these reusable food bags.
Keeps them neat and tidy.
No chance of wrappers or anything flying away.
So, that's it.
And then I got one of these, too, just in case I was going camping one night.
But I'm not sure that will happen.
I got my bananas and my plate and cutlery.
My stove and little billy pan.
And a big gas and a little gas.
Change of plans.
I'm not cooking.
It was really midnight out there.
Yeah, even with the head net on.
I couldn't really see what I was doing with the head net on.
So, yeah, I'm just not gonna cook tonight.
I got snacks, I'm not going to die.
I'll be all right. I'll be all right.
And then tomorrow morning, depending on if there are midges, I'll cook something then.
It's 7 o'clock.
And I got a really good night's sleep last night.
So, I opened the boot this morning, thinking I'd just lie there for a few minutes.
And then all the midges descended.
So, yeah, I quickly closed the boot and got out of there.
I haven't got any bites yet.
So, I just brushed my teeth and I left.
And I'm going to go to a public toilet in Torridon, I think.
Solo trips for a while now.
And I don't know why, because they're great.
It's given me a little more confidence to do trips by myself.
I need this.
I haven't had a cup of tea in two days.
So, I'll drink as much as I can today to make up for it.
That's another good thing about having a car.
You're kind of more enclosed than you are in a tent.
So, you don't have the noises that you normally would.
You can lock yourself in.
So, you do feel a little safer.
So, yeah, I'll carry on with my day and you can come with me.
It's a beautiful day and it's a Saturday.
And it's like this.
Compared to places like Defrin Ogwen, the Ogwen Valley.
It's really crazy to think that there's hardly anyone around.
This is a hare's tail.
And we have it in Wales, but I've never seen it this big.
Look how big they are.
It's fluffy.
So many similarities between here and Wales.
Just everything here is on a much larger scale.
Like the tail of the hare, the plants, the lakes, the mountains.
Everything is just massive.
Woke up to a beautiful view of Glen Etiv.
And I'm going to start getting ready to head home.
I have a long journey ahead of me.
So, I'll be leaving shortly.
Not really looking forward to the drive, but it has to be done.
So, I'm a little sniffly this morning.
I'm not cold, just hay fever.
Let's go, back to the house.
This was such a good trip.
Something I really wanted to do for a while.
So, I'm so glad I did it.
And I'm going home, which is sad.
I could spend weeks and weeks here, but I only had three days.
So, I tried to make the most of what I had.
And, yeah, I'll be back soon, I'm sure.
Hopefully it won't take me too long to get home, but it will.
Because it's Scotland and we're far away.
So, yeah, I'm gonna start driving now.
