According to the mainland Chinese media outlet "Dahe Bao" on July 7th, Huang Deyi, a villager from Zhenlin Village, Taonan City, Jilin Province, built a floating bridge in 2014 at a cost of 130,000 yuan, using 13 iron boats. Ironically, this act of goodwill brought them imprisonment. In December 2019, except for a five-year-old child and the children attending school, the entire family of 18 people was sentenced to two years in prison with a two-year probation period by the Taonan City Court.
