The Girl On a Bicycle | BMW vs a Bicycle! Who will win on the path to happiness

My girlfriend's name is Xinyi. She's different from other girls. She's always smiling. No matter what troubles me, they all disappear once I see her. The time we spend together is always full of joy. But my old man sees it differently. Because Xinyi practices Falun Gong, his biased views always give me lots of pressure. Hey! Don't you know how to drive? You hit my bicycle and injured my leg. My leg… You scratched my car. You're the one that slammed into my car. The road is so wide. Why do you have to ride on this side? What about my leg? It's still hurt. I need to get to a hospital. I'm warning you. I have everything recorded. Don't even try to fake an accident. The dash cam's got everything. You can't trick anyone. It's not all my responsibility right? Are you hurt? How about we go to the hospital? Never mind, it's ok. It'll cost at least ten grand to repair at a 4S shop. You look dirt poor. Just give me two thousand. Two grand? I'm only an odd-job worker. Where am I going to get two grand? Don't even think of leaving without paying. Can't you handle this on your own! Where am I going to get that much money? Where can I get two grand? I don't have money… I have a problem here. Hurry up. Sir. It must be tough for you. Here's two thousand. Give it to him after. Thank you. No problem. Hang on to it. Thank you! You're welcome. Let's exchange contacts No, it's fine. I'll definitely return the money to you later. Come on. Alright. Thank you. Fine, fine. Just take care of it. Well? Where's the money? Listen, I'm letting you off easy today. Xinyi, let's go. Hit a car! What happened? Are you ok? I'm fine. I hit a BMW. BMW! Stop eating! How much do we have to pay? You don't even have a proper job. Now that you hit someone's BMW, how're we going to live? What're we going to do? Let me finish. The owner's girlfriend gave me two grand. So I gave that to the owner. Gave you two grand? Yeah. Did you go out with Xinyi again? How many times have I told you? She's a Falun Gong practitioner. It's too risky. Isn't Xinyi pretty good? Good? You must be kidding! You've seen my ex-girlfriends. None of them can compare to Xinyi. What good is that? What're you two bickering about? You woke me up. This little coward went out again with that Falun Gong called Xinyi. Oh my god! If the government found out, then all of our wealth will be confiscated. You damn right. Listen, Qin. Why did I marry you? Obviously for my wealth. If the wealth's gone, then I might as well divorce you. Whatever. Get out of here. Don't butt in when I'm lecturing the kid. Educate this lad well. Beat him if you have to. Yeah, yeah. None of your business. This is the stepmother you got me, and you're lecturing me? Shut up. You live in my house, drive a luxury car, show off everywhere… What're you so smug for? I'm telling you to break up with her. Immediately! Xinyi, can you just stop the practice? I'm getting too much pressure from my dad. I can understand, but this is my belief. As long as you don't practice, I'll do everything you say after marriage. Please, Xinyi. Xiaoshan, I won't abandon my belief. I'll ask you one last time. Me, or your belief? I have nothing more to say then. It's over. Let's not see each other again. Xiaoshan… Xinyi, you two really broke up? That wealthy bachelor…his family is so well-off. You two split just like that? Your brother and I can't look after you forever. You messed up a sure thing. How can you be so dumb? Who is it? Hold on. Coming. Wait. Who're you? We're looking for Dong Xinyi. Xinyi? Come in. Xinyi, someone's looking for you. Come in. Xinyi, who're they? It's you. Xinyi? So you're Xinyi. Thank you so much for the other day. You're so kind. This is my wife. This is my sister-in-law. How're you? It's like this. Last time, I hit Xinyi's boyfriend's car. She lent me two grand. I'm here to return the money. Show the money. Oh right. Xinyi, this is two grand. Thank you very much. Yeah. No problem. You're too kind. Dong Xinyi, were you crying just now? She just broke up with her boyfriend. Really? Yeah. The one driving the BMW? That's him. What happened? Why? You're such a good person. Yeah. Because I practice Falun Gong. His family is against it. His family must be stupid. Where can you find such a good girl these days? Yeah. Then what's his stance? They've always been on good terms. It must be his dad who's against it. Look, you helped us so much. It's nothing. How about this? What? Dazhuang can… Come on, get off. Why don't you get off? Come on. Yeah. This isn't right… Don't be like that. I'm telling you. We just want to see if this guy is sincere toward you. Go on. Get off. Hurry up. Hurry. Come on. If you don't get on, he'll be here soon. Get on. Let's go. Hang on. Go. Bye-bye. The Girl on a Bicycle Dong Xinyi. Who's he? Who're you? I'm her ex-boyfriend. Isn't this the guy that hit my car? Yeah. Why're you with him? I'm her current boyfriend. What? What do you want? Is this a joke? We broke up only a few days ago and now you have a new boyfriend? What's wrong with that? She's free to choose. You two broke up already. Mind your own business. Dong Xinyi. Even if we broke up, how can you find someone like him? What's wrong with me? I'm pretty decent. Look at him. He even rides an old bicycle. What, you want to live a tough life? What? What's wrong with my looks? Xinyi, am I ugly? No you're not. Hear that? I'm telling you, you two are done. What, can't let go of her? You have other business? I… Nothing? Then we're off. Buddy, watch your mouth in the future. Xinyi, let's go. Dong Xinyi. I hope that you're not making a hasty decision. You'll regret it the whole life being with someone like that. Xinyi, will you marry me? Manager. Why're you still here at this hour? It's fine. I'm leaving. Don't stay too late. Ok, bye. After breaking up with Xinyi, it's hard to describe my feelings. These two days, I had many flashbacks of our time together, especially her acts of kindness. She once found an abandoned child. She insisted on raising him despite opposition from her family. Xinyi, why do you want to raise a kid when you're still young? When will this end? Forget it. Look at the kid. It's a miserable situation. What're we going to do with her. When the child grew up, one day the child's parents forcefully took away the kid. Xinyi was heartbroken for a long time. I feel a bit regretful of my actions. I'm not sure if our relationship can be saved. Grandpa, Grandma. I'm here. Xinyi is here. Yeah. Please sit, Grandpa. Sit. You sit first. Sit. You must be tired? Not at all, Grandma. I'll cook noodles for you later. It's fine, Grandma. I already ate. I bought these fruits, vegetables and rice for you. Enjoy them. Ok! This is your living expenses for this month. This much? Child… Yes. Is this all for us? How about yourself? Grandma, I kept what I need. These two years, you've always been taking care of us. Counterfeit money! You damn old fogey. You trying to cheat me? What? You're still trying to deceive people at this age? Yeah! How can it be fake? How is it not fake? My wife just got this from the bank. I don't care where you got it from. Sir, look. It's not counterfeit. Silly girl. Next. Hey, Qin. President Wang, you're here for the meeting too? What's up? I have something to ask you. What's the status of the payment? It's not due yet right? I'll pay it when it's due. When will you pay up? I don't have money now. Wait until I have money. Make it high priority. I got a call. I'm busy. Look how arrogant he is. Hmph! That Qin must be tired of the easygoing life. Yeah. He's profited from our company many times over the years. Look at him now. What kind of attitude was that? Yeah, how irritating. How about we give him a hard time? How? He owes us twenty million right? Yeah. I want him to pay it right away. How do we explain it to the chairman? Don't worry. I'll handle it. Ok. Pay up! Return it now! You punk… How dare you hit me! Let me go. Let me go! Release him. He won't dare to try anything funny. Let go of me. Tomorrow I'll go to Everbright Enterprises to speak to the president. It was the president who ordered us to come here. Pay it now! What's going on here! Who're you? What's going on? This is a debt collection. Twenty million. You have two days. Nonsense! The agreement was to repay within one year. Where am I going to get twenty million? Yeah, why does it need to be paid now? Isn't it within one year? It's none of your business. Let me take care of this. You? Qin, who the hell is this? She's my son's ex-girlfriend. What's an ex doing getting involved? I must get involved. Give me a day. I'll give you a reply for sure. You trying to make a fool out of me? If you don't believe me, here's my ID. You can take a picture. If you don't hear from me by this time tomorrow, I'll take full responsibility. Kids nowadays, full of blind confidence. Snap it. Fine. We'll be here tomorrow at this time. If it's not like what you say, prepare for the consequences. We love thrills like this. Qin… Go. You foolish kid! How can you say things like that? I was right to force Xiaoshan to break up with you. I didn't know that you're also a fraud. Get out of here. Don't make things worse for me. Please return this ring to Xiaoshan. Leave. This kid's only adding fuel to the fire. Hello? Hello, Mr. Zheng? This is Xinyi, Xinyi? How're you? I need help. There's a mister here. He's the owner of Eastern Marine Fisheries. His last name is Qin. Two people from your company came to collect on a debt. They started arguing. Can you help me look into it? Is that so? No problem, I'll get someone on it. Thank you, Mr. Zheng. Bye-bye. Ok, bye. Call President Wang right away. Find out what's going on with Qin's situation. Yes, Chairman. Xinyi called? Yeah, she wanted some help. Then you must help her. Xinyi, you're here. Please come inside. Thank you so, so much. Yeah. After the re-examination, the chairman's various indicators have all returned to normal levels. Yeah. Look at me. I can even jump. Don't act like a kid. It's ok. I have to thank Xinyi especially. She got me reading Zhuan Falun. She also taught me the exercises. That's how I recovered so quickly. Yeah, this is miraculous. eing separated from Xinyi these days really tormented me. I only realize now how important she is to me. Xiaoshan, come sit. What's wrong? You seem down. Grandma. I'm really distressed. What's the matter? Tell Grandma. It's my family. They put a lot of pressure on me to break up with Xinyi. What? I realize my mistake. I really regret it. Xiaoshan, I must criticize you a little. You're in the wrong. Xinyi is an incredible child. Such a rare find. You must reconnect with her. Girls must be coaxed. You got it, Xiaoshan? I'm still looking forward to your wedding candy. Ok, I know what I have to do. Don't give up. Grandma's words motivated me. I will strive to reunite with Xinyi. Xinyi? I realize my mistake. Can you forgive me? Please, put an end to this. Say what? Why're you always following us? Don't push me. I'm telling you. I'm here to end this today. Here's ten thousand. Break up with her right now. Look at how pitiful you are. This is all you're worth. Don't bribe me with money. You were the one who broke up with her. You regret it now? No way! You going to break up or not? No. What're you going to do? Stop! Don't fight. Stop it! Stop fighting! Why're you fighting? What're you guys doing? I'm warning you! Stay away from us. Else I won't go easy on you. Never mind. Are you alright? Xinyi, don't leave me ok? Xinyi, let's go. He doesn't deserve your sympathy. This punk dares to hit our young master. I'll kill you. You got it? Beat him. Die! Did you notify the young master? He'll be here soon. Now that we've helped the young master we'll get a promotion and raise for sure. What's going on? Young master. What're you doing? This punk dared to hit you. We're giving him payback on your behalf. Should we waste him? You know that kidnapping is a serious crime? Do you know that? Young master, this is all for you. Did we do something wrong? I already said, stay out of my business. What a thankless task. Say that again? I said… I'm warning you. Don't get over your head. End your relationship with Xinyi right away. Let him go. Look at those bruises. This is nothing to a real man. I know that you're doing this for my good. I really thank you all. But I think that we should stop here. We can't stop now. Xinyi, we have to see things to the end. Thanks for all your effort. It's fine. Yeah, Xinyi is such a nice girl. This is nothing. These few days, he's been following you so closely. Xinyi, just carry on a bit more. Right, endure some more. Look at the plan. You've completed the first three tasks. Only the bridal shop remains. Right. Tomorrow, we'll head to the bridal store. Go for it. To success! Images of Xinyi sitting on a bicycle kept appearing in my mind. It would be so nice if we could return to the way we were. The person you're calling is unavailable at the moment. Hi, Xiaoshan. Mary… Wow! We haven't seen each other in over two years, yet you're still so handsome. How're you? So-so. I heard that you're single again. I'm not single. I have a girlfriend. Ha…stop pretending. I am Mary the Beauty. I have eyes and ears everywhere. Let's go have a few drinks. I quit drinking. What? Did you quit drinking, or did your girlfriend force you to quit? Wait, it's ex-girlfriend. Here, have a cigarette. I quit smoking too. No wonder you two broke up. Does she want you to be a monk? How about this? I'll accompany you today so you can relax. The person I want to see is unavailable. Instead, I meet someone I don't want to see. You're looking down on me! So many people dream of being my boyfriend. I'm willing to be here today because I acknowledge you. Come on, let's go. Look at you being all gloomy. It's only a breakup. You look like you're down in the dumps. Stop being so sad. Even though I'm your ex-girlfriend, but I was still a girlfriend right? Here, let's continue drinking. Drink and forget your troubles. Come on, drink up. That's right. One more glass. Come on. Yes, keep going. Don't stop now. Here. Xiaoshan… You never thought you would end up in this situation right? It's your fault for breaking up with me. Xinyi… What? Xinyi… You idiot. You want to find a good girl with the way you are? Don't you know that there's no good girl anymore? This is what you deserve for what you did to me. Who're you? I'm the landlord. Where's the rent? What rent? Still hungover? Your girlfriend Mary owes me half a year of rent. She told me that her boyfriend will pay. That's why I'm here. I don't live here. Why do I need to pay any rent? Get in! What're you doing! Get in here! What're you doing! You dare to hit me? Punk! Let me go. Go. What do you want? Sit down! Let me go! You want to run? You want to escape? Guard the door. Ok! Let me go. What is all this? Normally he should be following us at this hour. Where's his car? Go check a few more blocks. Maybe you'll see it. Love is a complicated thing. This is how your sister-in-law and I came to be. Just a couple of blocks. Yeah. Right. Go on. Just carry on a bit more. The course of true love never runs smooth. Yeah. You'll definitely succeed. Let's go. Go. Let's check over here. That seems to be his car. Let's take a look. It's Xiaoshan's wallet and ID. Why're they here? I'll go take a look. Ok, I'll wait for you here. Let me go. Why did you tie me up? Let you go? Don't think about leaving unless you pay the rent today. Mary stole my cards, money and keys. I have no money. Do whatever you want with me. You dare to scream at me? I'll kill you. Cousin, there's another one sneaking around. Who is it? Get in! Xinyi, why're you here? Run away! What're you doing! This has nothing to do with you. Now it's a girl. Fine, you pay his debt. What debt? Mary owes us half a year of rent. She delegated the repayment to her boyfriend. I'm not her boyfriend. She's my ex-girlfriend. The money owed by an ex-girlfriend shouldn't be paid by him, right? I don't care who you are. You have to pay the debt. Yeah! I've never lived here. It has nothing to do with me. You're committing a crime here. Besides, it's not good for yourselves. It's you that owe money. Collecting on a debt is fully justified. Search her bag for anything valuable. Let go of me. Don't touch her. Let her go. Don't move. I won't show any mercy. This is all the money. See if there's anything else. There's this. You practice Falun Gong? Yes. I must kowtow to you. Cousin! What's going on? Get up. Up. You don't know… Your grandfather had late-stage lung cancer. When we were all out of ideas, a virtuous person arrived to teach him Falun Gong. Guess what happened? In less than three months, your grandfather's illness was gone. What? It's true. You were in the city so you're not aware. Everyone in the village knows. Since then, he told us that whoever sees a Falun Gong practitioner, we must treat them well. Respect them. You got it? Yes! Return her belongings. Sorry, sis! Untie him. Sorry! He's here. Xinyi! I want to say a few more words. Sit here. Be quiet. I'll go talk to him. Xinyi? Who's yelling? I want to talk to Xinyi. It's you. Xinyi will be trying on wedding gowns tomorrow. She'll be a bride soon. You don't understand how happy she is. Don't come here again. She doesn't want to see you. Go. Why aren't you moving? The hardest thing to overcome is regret. Get lost. So annoying. Xinyi! He's still nearby. Are we going overboard? He must feel terrible. This is your lifelong event. If we don't do this, how will you know if he's true to you? This is all for your own good. Got that? After hearing that Xinyi's going to try on wedding gowns, my mind became flustered. I couldn't sleep at all that night. I must make a final push no matter what. This wedding gown fits you to a T. It's as if it was customized just for you. Yeah. You're so lucky to be with such a beautiful girl. That's right, thank you. Xinyi? Xiaoshan… Why're you here? Xinyi, how long have you know this guy? Aren't you being too hasty? Why're you everywhere? We're about to get married. Why do you keep following us? When will you stop? Xinyi, are you serious? Of course she's serious. Can't you see that we're trying on wedding gowns? Xinyi, don't do this to me ok? Let's talk things over. You! Now you regret what you did. What were you thinking before? Yes, I regret it. It's all my fault. Can you forgive me, Xinyi? You deserve a beating. You broke up with Xinyi first. Look at how great she is. She doesn't chase after fame, money or tangibles. And she's kind. Where can you find such a wonderful girl? Yes, I understand. Xinyi, can you give me another chance? You won't mind or be afraid of me practicing Falun Gong? I made up my mind. If you give me another chance, I won't mind and I won't be afraid. What if there's a next time? I swear. There won't be a next time. You seem to be sincere. To tell you the truth, this is all fake. It's all orchestrated. This is my real wife. What's going on here? Xinyi helped us out back then. I came up with this idea. I had them act out this series of events. Xinyi, I can be together with you again. Learn from this experience. I was an idiot. I swear I'll treat you well forever. Xiaoshan, they came up with this idea. Do you blame them? I can't thank them enough. Someone needs to beat some sense into a self-centered guy like me. Where will I find a wonderful girl like you? After these events, I finally realize how different you Falun Gong practitioners are. I didn't cherish before. You've always wanted me to practice. I have no reason to reject anymore. Let's go. I'll take you home. Dad! You're back. I brought Xinyi back. I was about to call you. It's good that you've returned. Dad! What? I need to make an announcement. Speak. I don't care if you agree or not. I'm going to marry Xinyi right away. I made up my mind. You little fool. Xinyi is this family's savior. She saved my business. Approved! Get married immediately. Xinyi, what's going on? You're not aware. It's all thanks to Xinyi. Arrange the wedding. The sooner the better. You little fool. Thank you Dad. Thank you Mom. Let's squeeze together more. It's a wedding. Be happy. Sir, please smile. Look over here. Here. One, two, three. Smile! Taking Xinyi for a ride on the bicycle today gave me extra delight. It's something that I've never felt when Xinyi sat in my BMW. Wish our lives become better and better.
