Inspired by true events during the early COVID-19 outbreak, the new film, “The Unrestricted War,” exposes how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) concealed critical information and silenced whistleblowers, triggering a global crisis. “The Unrestricted War” is a harrowing political thriller that delves into the unrestricted warfare strategy of the CCP. These intense conflicts of science, conscience, and survival open our eyes to a world directed by the totalitarian hand of CCP control.
The people participating in the film are also the victims of CCP’s real-life unrestricted warfare. While directing the film, Yan Ma experienced interference from the local government officials in China including harassment from national security agents and some of his family members being cut off from their income. Three days prior to shooting the film, one of the lead actors left after he received threatening information that he believed came from the Chinese United operations in Canada.
When the film was first released in Canada, Yan Ma encountered disruption again from the Chinese government after the film premiere was cancelled one day before the event.
This film is such a powerful exposé of the unrestricted warfare strategy and influence in the U.S. film industry. All film distributors are refusing “The Unrestricted War.” So instead of releasing the film in theatres in the U.S. and it will be released on the GJW+ streaming platform exclusively on August 8.
“This is an absolutely stunning film. Stunning both because of the technical quality of it and the performance, and the story. It is hard to overstate the importance of it at this moment, because we are at war with the Chinese Communist Party.” said Frank Gaffney, president of the Institute for the American Future, at The Unrestricted War premiere screening and panel discussion event on Capitol Hill last Thursday July 31.
At the center of the story is Dr. Jim Conrad, a celebrated Canadian virologist leading a major biotech initiative in China. What begins as a philanthropic and scientific mission quickly unravels when Jim is abruptly arrested by secret police and thrust into a shadowy world of state surveillance and intimidation. With his family’s safety hanging in the balance, he’s given an unthinkable ultimatum: return to Canada and retrieve a classified viral sample from a high-security lab or face permanent disappearance.
As Jim struggles to make sense of the demand, he begins to uncover traces of a broader, more insidious agenda — one aimed at global domination through deception and control. Whispers of a suppressed outbreak, a silenced whistleblower, and a series of sudden disappearances point to something far more orchestrated than mere coincidence. In the halls of power, ruthless actors within the Chinese Communist Party operate with chilling efficiency to bury the truth, weaponize science and crush dissent at any cost.
“Unrestricted war” refers to a real-life military strategy developed by two senior officers of China’s People’s Liberation Army. Unlike conventional warfare, this strategy aims to weaken enemy societies through all means possible, blending into everyday life through infiltration, technology, information warfare, and media manipulation.
