The Department of Labor reports that employers added 115,000 jobs in April, far above economists’ expectations of 62,000. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.3 percent, while private-sector hiring also beat forecasts. Healthcare, transportation and retail helped lead the gains. Government payrolls edged lower in April, driven largely by a decline in the federal workforce.

The Pentagon has begun releasing new files on UFOs, saying members of the public can draw their own conclusions on “unidentified anomalous phenomena” like an object that a drone pilot says shone a bright light in the sky and then vanished. Besides the Pentagon, the effort is also led by the White House, the Director of National Intelligence, the Energy Department, NASA and the FBI.
