In his first formal press conference on Tuesday, President Trump spoke beside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Their meeting came as mediators begin working on the second phase of the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Trump floated the idea of the U.S. taking control of the Gaza Strip and developing it into an international community, with jobs and homes for Palestinians, a suggestion that's drawing flak from many quarters.

The Senate has confirmed Pam Bondi as the next U.S. Attorney General, as well as Doug Collins for Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The Senate Finance Committee also voted yesterday to advance the nomination of RFK Jr. to become the next Secretary of Health and Human Services. Tulsi Gabbard, President Trump's pick to be the next Director of National Intelligence, also received a favorable vote in the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Officials confirmed the bodies of all 67 victims killed in the D.C. plane crash over the Potomac River have been recovered, with 66 of them being positively identified. Crews also began lifting large pieces of the American Airlines passenger plane from the river and will begin working on recovering the army helicopter later this week. Investigations are still underway and the NTSB said it hopes to release a preliminary report within 30 days.
