YORKTOWN- A Philipstown man faces charges of falsely reporting an incident after allegedly calling Yorktown authorities to report that someone was being held against their will at gunpoint.

Yorktown Police on Friday reported the arrest of 36-year-old Charles Johnson in connection with the incident that occurred on June 12.

Police said following the 9-1-1 call, officers responded to the residence but determined the report was false and no one was in danger. Police identified Johnson as the caller, and a judge issued a warrant.

Following his arraignment, Johnson was released without bail pending a Nov. 10 hearing.

The charge carries a maximum year’s incarceration in a county jail and/or fines of up to $1,000 if found guilty.
