Not to be outdone by McDonald’s Boo Buckets with Disney villains, Burger King is offering its own kids meal collectibles.
The Miami-based fast food giant is offering Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Meals featuring cute characters created by the Japanese entertainment company Sanrio.
Each meal includes one of six toys. Figures include Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and Keroppi, each wearing a Burger King crown, according to a news release.
A few customers will get a special gold-colored Hello Kitty toy, the release said.
Burger King is also handing out Hello Kitty paper crowns.
King Jr. meals include either a hamburger, cheeseburger or four chicken nuggets along with fries and a drink for around $4.99 each. An order with six nuggets costs about $8.99.
King Jr. Meals feature what Burger King calls its new and improved chicken nuggets that were introduced in August. It says they are made with crispier breading and a more flavorful marinade.
The Hello Kitty promotion overlaps Burger King’s Game Day Menu, which includes a Game Day Pretzel Burger on a pretzel bun and Chicken Fries with Nacho Cheese Sauce.
Burger King also has a Halloween beverage, Vampire’s Bite Strawberry and Sprite, made with strawberry-flavored syrup and served with a Sour Punch Sip-n-Chew Straw.
