WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man has been indicted by a Westchester County grand jury for murder in the stabbing death of his father on the morning of September 28, 2026.

Rami Ahmad, 21, was arraigned on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

It is alleged that Ahmad stabbed his father 61-year-old Hekmat Ahmad, several times in the chest, abdomen, and shoulder in their Smart Avenue home, and fled the scene.

The elder Ahmad was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Following an investigation, Yonkers Police located the son walking near the county trailways around Palmer Road and Kingston Avenue, less than a mile from the family home, and arrested him.
