HIGHLAND FALLS – Main Street in the Village of Highland Falls is expected to see development of two major projects in the months ahead.

Mayor James DeSalvo said the village, at the gates to West Point, is encouraged by two planned developments downtown.

“There is a $30 million project for commercial/mixed use/residential building on Main Street that’s basically taking up three or four buildings. Those will come down and a new building goes up with seven commercial shops on the first floor and then residential apartments on the top floor,” he said. “And then, there is also another mixed-use building on the southern part of Main Street that will also be a new restaurant area and a mix use with apartments on top as well.”

The mayor said the village is “going through a transformation and some positive change.”
