Hollywood — Jason Statham Returns to Action in The Beekeeper 2 Trailer

Jason Statham is back for another round of high-stakes action in The Beekeeper 2, continuing his role in the action franchise that began with the 2024 film.

Amazon MGM Studios unveiled the trailer for the upcoming sequel on Thursday, Oct. 15, bringing back Statham as Adam Clay, a former assassin who once worked for a secretive organization known as the Beekeepers while living under the guise of an ordinary beekeeper.

The original film followed Clay as he came out of retirement after his friend, played by Phylicia Rashad, died following a phishing scam. Determined to seek justice, Clay fought his way through the network of people responsible for the scheme, eventually discovering that his adversary was the son of the president of the United States, played by Josh Hutcherson and Jemma Redgrave, respectively.

In the new installment, Statham, 59, returns alongside Jeremy Irons, Redgrave, 61, and Emmy Raver-Lampman, who reprise their roles from the first movie. The cast also features Pom Klementieff, Adam Copeland, Bobby Naderi and Yara Shahidi.

The trailer reveals that Clay is once again pulled into a dangerous mission after learning from Irons’ character that the Beekeeper organization is attempting to seize control of the U.S. government. With the group turning against its original purpose, Clay is asked to help stop its takeover plans.

According to the film’s official synopsis, “Pulled back into the fight when the Beekeeper organization goes rogue and sets its sights on controlling the government, Clay must take on the very group that made him.”

Kurt Wimmer, who penned the original 2024 film, returns to write the sequel alongside Zak Penn, whose credits include Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Free Guy and Ready Player One.

Timo Tjahjanto, known for Nobody 2, takes over directing duties for the sequel. David Ayer directed the first The Beekeeper movie.

Statham has maintained a busy schedule since the original film’s release, appearing in three action movies, including last year’s A Working Man and this year’s Shelter and Mutiny.

The actor also has several upcoming projects, among them Jason Statham Stole My Bike, a film in which he will portray himself. The project is expected to reach theaters in summer 2027.

The Beekeeper 2 is scheduled to open in theaters on Jan. 15, 2027.
