KINGSTON – Ulster County is expanding its regional advanced life support ambulance service to include additional communities.
County EMS Coordinator Richard Miller told the county legislature’s Ways and Means Committee on Thursday that the system is working well.
“That is something that did not exist in any point in time in the past years, and this has been proven this past year in Gardiner, Lloyd, New Paltz, and a portion of the Town of Plattekill where we have been hitting upwards of 99.8 percent of the calls have been answered without a problem,” he said.
At present, that area is operating with five advanced life support ambulances and two basic life support ambulances.
