Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Look! Down on the ground in that enclosure — it’s a Guinea pig!

Actually, it’s two, and Captain Marvel and Banshee are ready to continue their super hero journey with you! Currently at Lowell Humane Society, these two pocket pets are just 2 years old, and as cute as can be. Captain Marvel has calico markings, while Banshee is white with spots. Both have adorable big noses and wide eyes and when they eat veggies with their mouths going a mile a minute? Absolutely nothing is cuter!

However, Guinea pigs have specific dietary requirements, and according to volunteers, they’ll need high-quality timothy hay, and hay-based pellets every day. Other daily needs include: 1 cup of fresh veggies which can be varieties of lettuce, parsley, dill and bell peppers. They will also need vitamin C supplements — just like humans, they do not produce their own.

These two are a package deal because Guinea pigs are social animals. They will also need a solid base cage (about 2 x 4 feet). The shelter is open from Tuesday-Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. (closed Mondays). Adoption process is explained at: https://tinyurl.com/mrxvkw5e. Visit: 951 Broadway St., Lowell.
