TOWNSEND — Area residents will have the opportunity to step back in time and learn more about one of New Hampshire’s most celebrated educators when “CHALLENGER: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe” comes to town at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Townsend Public Library, 12 Dudley Road.
Presented by History-at-Play, the live theater production is an immersive, multimedia living-history performance that traces the life and legacy of Christa McAuliffe, the Concord teacher selected for NASA’s Teacher in Space Program.
The program explores McAuliffe’s journey as a teacher and American pioneer, as well as the historic space shuttle mission that made her an internationally recognized figure.
The event is being made possible through the generosity of the Bob Jolly Charitable Trust, with additional sponsorship from the TPL Endowment, the Friends of the Townsend Seniors and the Amanda Dwight Entertainment Fund. The presentation has been approved by the McAuliffe and Corrigan families.
