PRINCETON — Princeton Arts’ 35th anniversary celebration continues with a day of songwriting, storytelling and musical theater as Broadway comes to Princeton.

Princeton Arts invites the community to join award-winning musical theater composer and educator Brian Feinstein for “From Page to Stage,” a celebration of the creative process behind musical theater, at the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Road, on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The day begins with an interactive afternoon workshop for young people in grades 4 through 8. Participants will work alongside Feinstein to build an original song from scratch, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how a musical number comes to life.

Advance registration is required. Interested participants should email [email protected] and request registration information for the “From Page to Stage” grades 4-8 workshop, including the participation fee.

The Broadway journey continues at 7 p.m. with “Songs and Stories: The Mess and Magic of Making Musicals.” The evening concert, open to all ages, will feature selections from Feinstein’s musical theater work, classics from the American Musical Songbook and selections from the developing musical adaptation of “The Bad News Bears.”

Special guest artist Ava Briglia will join Feinstein for the evening, which will also feature the premiere performance of an original song created by the young workshop participants.

A $10 donation is suggested.

The program is made possible through grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Barre Savings Charitable Foundation.
