LEOMINSTER — An evening of Broadway music, local talent and inspiring voices will take center stage at Leominster City Hall later this month.

City on a Hill Arts will present “Make Them Hear You,” a musical revue featuring a variety of local performers singing Broadway favorites from across the decades. The free concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, at Leominster City Hall, 25 West St.

Donations will be encouraged to support City on a Hill Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing works of art that explore the intersection of faith, spirituality and culture while fostering “a more just and loving response.”

The evening’s musical selections will be connected by the theme of raising voices and refusing to remain silent.

“We are living in a time when voices are being encouraged to stay silent, and it can feel easy to give up,” said director David Allen Prescott. “This concert seeks to celebrate those who persist in the face of adversity, and those who seek to shine in a world that would have them hide their light.”

The revue will feature local performers from throughout North Central Massachusetts and the surrounding region, including Sam Burak and Elsa Guerra of Winchendon; Xavier Cormier of Gardner; Wil Darcangelo of Fitchburg; Fatima Elmi-Dwinnells of Holden; Lillian Maxwell of Athol; Debbie Moylan and Libby Moylan of Ashby; Aeon Smith of Leominster; Cassie Swartz of Fitzwilliam; and Dave Twiss of Barre.

Through music spanning generations of Broadway productions, the performers will bring the evening’s message to life – encouraging audiences to speak out, persevere through adversity and allow their voices to be heard.

Admission to “Make Them Hear You” is free, although donations to City on a Hill Arts will be accepted.
