The left is finally getting tough on crime—but only one kind of crime. And, unsurprisingly, it is not even a real crime.

The holdout juror in the Lindsey Clancy trial, who happens to be a Black man, is being labeled a criminal by many on the left. He is being viciously attacked and targeted by a wave of social-justice warriors online. Mainstream media outlets are questioning past allegations against him and whether he should have been disqualified from serving on the jury in the first place. Internet sleuths are trying to dox his identity and bring him to “justice.” It is a modern-day lynch mob, and they are sharpening their pitchforks as I write this.

I think many people are surprised by this because it is no secret that the left has been soft on crime for many years. They have proposed or enacted policies such as defunding the police, abolishing prisons, reducing theft and “nonviolent crimes” to misdemeanors, cashless bail, and the list goes on. Let’s also not forget their desire to decriminalize being in this country illegally and make millions of unvetted criminal invaders legal citizens overnight—some of whom are rapists, murderers, sex traffickers, drug dealers, and more.

The justification they offer for nearly every one of these proposals is essentially the same: if a crime is committed because of systemic racism or oppression, it should not be punished, because it becomes a crime of necessity.

They will tell you that slavery in America, abolished in 1865, is still affecting Black and brown people in 2026—and that this is why they commit crimes. They will tell you that America is responsible for destabilizing third-world countries through foreign policy and intervention, and that this is why migrants break our laws and flood into the country illegally. Anyone who says people should be punished regardless of their situation or race is, in their view, motivated by racism, Islamophobia, or bigotry.

To the left, when Black people commit crimes, they are actually victims of societal inequality, forced into criminal activity by a lack of opportunity. The left sees the crimes of minorities as crimes of necessity. Until now, we did not really know where their line was—what crime would be too serious to excuse because of its nature or blame on someone else because of that person’s circumstances.

What crime could an oppressed Black or brown person commit that would be so unforgivable to the left that they would risk being labeled racist for condemning it?

We already know you can stab an innocent girl to death on a train in cold blood, or stab a young man to death at a football game in front of his brother, and, if you are Black and the victims were white, the left will come to your defense. So if murder is out, what is left?

Well, after seeing the left viciously attack and dox the only Black juror in the Lindsey Clancy trial—labeling him a criminal over a single domestic charge that was later dismissed, as well as an open restraining order—it leads me to believe those allegations are not what they are really angry about.

Instead, I think we finally know what crime is so egregious to the left that they have deemed it indefensible, regardless of a person’s skin color, oppression, inequality, or poverty.

And that crime is…

The act of unapologetically stating that women who admit they intentionally and brutally killed their children are guilty of murder—and refusing to agree with anyone who tries to convince you otherwise.

That is the line the left just drew in the sand. You can murder, rape, steal, call for the death of those you disagree with, join a gang, cartel, or terrorist organization, riot, assault, stalk, and dox—as long as you are Black, poor, illegal, or vote blue no matter who—and the left will not give a shit.

But if you tell a woman that killing her children, inside or outside the womb, is evil, murder, and her fault, that is a bridge too far. It is never their fault. That is why Lindsey Clancy has so much support. If she is found guilty, then so are millions of other women who have thought about doing what she did and need to blame something other than themselves to avoid feeling like terrible mothers.

The truth is that many of them probably are. Hormones might make you feel a little crazy, but if you went far enough to trauma-bond with Lindsey Clancy, that was not hormones. You can tell me all day that you are a good mother because you only had thoughts, but not while telling me Lindsey Clancy is a good mother too.

Lindsey Clancy is guilty of murdering her children, full stop. Just like the juror they all hate now, you will never convince me otherwise. Find me guilty of the same crime.

Even if they say having the baby caused a hormonal problem, and Big Pharma is to blame for not fixing it so it could make money; even if they tell me it is a crime not to agree that greedy corporate policy is responsible for the voice in her head demanding that she strangle her baby and two toddlers—I am going to tell each and every one of them that Pfizer did not wrap an exercise band around an infant’s neck. She did.

Then I am going to tell them that, if they truly believe it is not murder when insanity caused a voice in her head to convince her to end the lives of her children, they must also believe that every woman who walked into a Planned Parenthood and ended the life of her child was either insane or a murderer.

Every woman who heard her own voice saying it was necessary to end the life of her child than to let that child live did not have to obey it any more than Lindsey Clancy did. They convinced themselves it was necessary because it was what they wanted to do. Lindsey Clancy convinced herself what she did was necessary because it was what she wanted to do.

Murdering your children does not become necessary when the voice inside your head is not your own. Just as any other crime does not become necessary because the criminal’s skin color is not your own.

What is necessary however, is equal justice and equal punishment under the law regardless of race, sex, or politics. Otherwise, our laws become meaningless, and justice becomes justification.
