Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Lots of art abounds when September rolls around and thoughts turn to more serious stuff than beach picnics and summer shenanigans.

The Arts League of Lowell presents “The Three of Us” in its Greenwald Gallery through Sept. 20, with a reception next Saturday, Sept. 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. It features photos and encaustic paintings by Normand Caron, fabric art by Pat Caron, and custom creations from Bethany Tine.

The gallery is located at 307 Market St., Lowell. Visit https://tinyurl.com/2mzmn7hw for hours and info.

Western Avenue

Buy art and see how it’s made while you talk to the artists who make the art on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Western Avenue Open Studios. The fun is from noon to 5 p.m.

Fitchburg Art Museum

Fitchburg Art Museum closes the 90th Regional Exhibition of Art and Craft on Sunday, Sept. 13. It is one of the longest-running juried exhibitions in New England. This tradition spotlights the artists and crafters of our region by providing a museum environment for their work and connecting them with fellow creators, patrons and art enthusiasts.
