Former President Bill Clinton is turning his 80th birthday into a nationwide fundraising opportunity, with a series of celebrations and donor events surrounding the milestone, including a private gathering at the Hamptons estate of Alex Soros and Huma Abedin.

Clinton, whose actual birthday was Aug. 19, spent part of his birthday weekend at the couple’s home as additional events were organized around the country to benefit his political and philanthropic network.

“They’re having birthday parties and events all over the country as a fundraising vehicle,” a Democratic insider told Page Six, according to a report published Wednesday.

The Hamptons celebration was described as an intimate event hosted at the residence of Soros, the son of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros.

The Soros family has spent more than $100 million supporting Democratic candidates in the 2026 midterm elections so far.

Clinton’s birthday celebrations are taking place alongside multiple fundraising events benefiting the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative, using the former president’s 80th birthday as a focal point for donor outreach.

One longtime political figure quoted by Page Six described major birthdays as particularly valuable opportunities for prominent former officeholders to generate support for their foundations and related causes.

“If you are a politician who does not politically monetize your decades — as you turn 50, 60, 70, 80 — you’re not doing it right,” the political veteran said. “You only have every 10 years. No one cares when you turn 71. So every decade, you only have a few bites of the apple to get that good crunch.”

The source also suggested that Clinton’s 80th birthday could represent one of the former president’s final opportunities to organize a fundraising campaign on this scale around a major personal milestone.

Clinton has repeatedly used landmark birthdays to bring together wealthy donors, celebrities, entertainers and longtime political supporters.

His 60th birthday became the centerpiece of a major Clinton Foundation fundraiser in Toronto.

That celebration included appearances and performances by Jon Bon Jovi, Tim McGraw, Sarah McLachlan, James Taylor, Billy Crystal, Josh Groban, Kevin Spacey and Clarence Clemons.

Ten years later, Clinton marked his 70th birthday with another major fundraising celebration, this time at the Rainbow Room in New York City.

The event featured performances by Wynton Marsalis, Jon Bon Jovi and Barbra Streisand.

Top-level contributors were asked to donate $250,000 to receive recognition as a chair of the celebration.

The latest round of events follows the same general model, combining Clinton’s personal milestone with fundraising for organizations established during his post-presidential career.

Clinton served as the 42nd president of the United States and has remained active through the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative since leaving office.

His 80th birthday has now provided those organizations with another opportunity to bring together donors and supporters at a time when Democratic political fundraising is also accelerating ahead of the 2026 midterms.

The presence of Alex Soros is particularly notable given the Soros family’s substantial political spending during the current election cycle.

The Hamptons event, however, was only one part of a wider series of celebrations being organized around Clinton’s birthday.

As the former president enters his ninth decade, the milestone is serving not only as a personal celebration but as the foundation for a coordinated fundraising campaign extending well beyond a single birthday party.
