Tim McGraw took a hard tumble during his recent concert in Cincinnati, but he wants his fans to know that he still had a great time performing there.
“Cincinnati, you started our weekend off on the right foot even if I couldn’t stay on mine,” McGraw wrote on Instagram, adding a laughing smiley face emoji. “We appreciate you coming out and singing along! Detroit, you’re up!”
McGraw’s post featured a carousel of images from his Cincinnati shows, as well as a clip of his fall, which included a voice-over: “Yup, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.”
The “Standing Room Only” singer was playing at the Riverbend Music Center in Ohio on Thursday night when he suddenly lost his footing. He was performing one of his biggest hits, “I Like It, I Love It,” and then suddenly stumbled backward, landing hard on the floor. It appears his cowboy boot got stuck in the paneling onstage, video of the moment shows.
McGraw managed to bounce up almost immediately, the microphone never leaving his hand. He continued on with the show and finished it out in full for the fans — who initially expressed concern for the country crooner, especially given the fact that he was 40 minutes late to the concert that night.
“I made it!” he said when he finally arrived, per the Cincinnati Enquirer. He went on to apologize to the crowd and blamed his tardiness on the weather.
