The Buffalo Bills finished with a 12-5 record during the regular season in 2025. Buffalo was the sixth seed in the AFC. The Bills took down the Jacksonville Jaguars in the wild card round, and they lost to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round. Buffalo fired Sean McDermott as head coach and promoted Joe Brady to head coach after being the offensive coordinator.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Buffalo. There is a chance that this move does not go as planned. They are in win-now mode with quarterback Josh Allen. He has yet to be in a Super Bowl appearance with the Bills. They have a chance to be a very good team once again. The New England Patriots won the AFC East last season with a 14-3 record and also went to the Super Bowl as well.

The projected win total for the Bills this season is 10.7. The verdict from the Athletic is that they think Buffalo’s win total is just right. Joe Buscaglia of the Athletic said,
“There is one simple and undeniable fact in Buffalo: As long as quarterback Josh Allen is healthy enough to play for the entire season — which he has every year since 2019 — it’s hard to envision the wheels totally falling off. The difference this year is there are a lot more variables. By firing Sean McDermott and promoting Joe Brady to head coach, the Bills believe they have raised their ceiling. But with a rookie head coach figuring it out on the fly, the floor may be much lower. They have a brand-new defensive scheme and a first-time NFL defensive coordinator in Jim Leonhard, another variable. That’s why 10.7 wins feels on the nose, as you could easily make the argument for slightly higher or lower. “
The defense has been a major problem for this team in the playoffs as well. They give up a lot of points when the stakes rise. Allen hasn’t been the reason why this team has failed, but some people think that it is fault they lost to the Broncos. If switching coaches does not help this team this season, a lot of people are going to blame general manager Brandon Beane instead.
