RED HOOK – The Red Hook VFW Post 7765 has a new air conditioning system and solar energy system at $111,500, paid for by a grant from State Senator Michelle Hinchey (D, Saugerties).
Post Commander Rick Christensen called the grant “a blessing for us to be able to install a new air conditioning in our banquet hall as the old one could no longer be repaired.”
The senator’s grant also provided for a new solar system, “that when it became active, just a few short weeks ago, it was putting out more energy that we use.”
“The capital improvements made possible by our grant will help VFW Post 7765 spend less on utility bills and more on its mission,” Hinchey said.
