While General Motors continues to deliver great trucks and now electric vehicles to the average consumer, it’s clear to see that its top-tier Luxury/Sport brand Cadillac stands out above them all, ruling the roads and continuing to make strides.
Its flagship SUV, the Cadillac Escalade is back in 2026 and a behemoth it still is.
Our week-long tester, a Black Raven Escalade Sport tops your Uber Black list, but also tops the consumer want list with its exceptional luxury and style. Plus, its comfort exceeds a Chevrolet Suburban with its top-tier luxury seats and interior finishes.
Our tester boasted no additional options which was nice to see a standard “base” model for a change without a slew of upgrades. Riding on 22-inch six-spoke alloy wheels, the Escalade came with magnetic ride control, a 55-inch interior display, AKG Studio 21-speaker audio system and a heads-up display, which were just a few of the standard features we enjoyed.
Having Super Cruise, General Motors’ autonomous driving system, was great and it was also standard on our Sport 4WD model.
Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, the Escalade has plenty of power and get up and go. A 10-speed automatic transmission is also standard. Three model options are available, in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, including the Luxury, Sport and Platinum models while a significantly powerful upgraded V-series model is available as well.
Cadillac has done a luxurious job in recent years with its fleet. Although a wide variety of upgrades have hit home for both the gas and EV models, the Cadillac Escalade and its recent updates still proves why its flagship model stands out the most. Notorious for exceeding customer expectations and longevity, the Cadillac Escalade is big and brawny and really ready to tackle the road ahead.
