Ariel: I’ve noticed that many readers don’t quite understand how divine beings can get married.
Tianming: Divine beings can marry. Some are even arranged to have offspring. However, marriages among divine beings are almost always alliance marriages. Unless necessary, they generally do not marry. The way they have children is also different from humans. For example, some can simply breathe out, and a child is born.
Yu Qian: Yes, divine beings can marry, but their marriages are more sacred and governed by stricter rules. In some cases, they must submit a formal marriage petition to divine beings one level above them—that is, the divine beings who oversee them—and may marry only after receiving approval. Most marriages are monogamous. Under special circumstances, there may also be one husband with multiple wives, or one wife with multiple husbands, but it is not what humans might imagine. Different realms and different levels have different standards.
Ariel: We definitely can’t make this public. Humans wouldn’t be able to understand it.
Li Fu: But divine beings cannot marry humans. Otherwise, higher-level divine beings would cast them down.
Ariel: After the Seven Lifetimes series, a very small number of fans wondered whether they might someday have the opportunity to marry Yu.
Yu Qian: I can understand that. But just like the story “The Dragon King’s Domestic Affairs,” which Yu En Transmission mentioned before, the Dragon King can marry. It’s just that our Dragon King is far too busy and has no time to get married.
Ariel: My main concern is that if someone makes this their goal in cultivation, it could end up harming them.
Li Fu: That’s why I mentioned it! Divine beings cannot marry humans. That would be a violation of divine law, so it simply isn’t possible! Every realm has its own laws and regulations!
Ariel: What if they achieve Consummation through cultivation and then go find Yu? (Imagining a hypothetical scenario.)
Tianming: Even after reaching Consummation, it still wouldn’t be possible.
Ariel: (Still worried and continuing to imagine possible scenarios.) What if they think, “I’ll cultivate so that I can join the Dragon Deity Clan, and then someday find Yu and rekindle our bond from a previous lifetime”?
Dragon King: (Appearing out of nowhere.) You cannot become a member of the Dragon Deity Clan through cultivation. Those who belong to the Dragon Deity Clan are beings who were originally members of the Dragon Deity Clan and reincarnated into this world.
For example, Yu Qian and Yin Rong were both members of the Dragon Deity Clan a very long time ago. That is why the higher realms were able to make such arrangements for them. If someone completes cultivation and becomes a different kind of divine being, such an arrangement cannot be made.
Ariel: That’s exactly what I’m worried about. Among the fans, there are also some who are reincarnated members of the Dragon Deity Clan. What if they develop thoughts like this? It could interfere with their return to their true, original selves.
Dragon King: The higher realms will prevent that from happening because it is no longer permitted. First, there is not enough predestined affinity. Second, the higher realms have already closed that door.
The higher realms made this arrangement—to prevent such things from happening—precisely because they are concerned that humans might pursue spiritual cultivation in the wrong direction. Not only would this affect their own cultivation, but it could also affect the entire Dragon Deity Clan.
Everyone must take responsibility for their own spiritual cultivation. You cannot cultivate because of a particular attachment. A master who guides people in spiritual cultivation would certainly not agree to that, because the original intention behind the cultivation would be impure. If your original intention is not righteous, the higher realms will not send divine beings to help you cultivate. Without divine assistance, you certainly will not succeed in cultivation.
Li Fu: This suddenly became so serious! So the most fundamental requirement for following a spiritual cultivation practice is that your heart and intentions must be righteous. Only then will divine beings from the higher realms come to assist you in your cultivation!
Tianming: Yes. If your original intention is not righteous, no one will come to guide you. Instead, it gives evil spirits an opportunity. Evil spirits and possessing entities are especially drawn to people’s attachments. They exploit the weaknesses created by those attachments and pretend to help people, but their true purpose is to absorb their vital essence and energy.
