TOWNSEND — The Townsend Military Band’s Thursday, Aug. 6, concert on the Townsend Common will be funded through a grant from the Townsend Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
The evening will also feature a lawn party hosted by the Friends of the Townsend Library. Concertgoers can purchase hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, popcorn, fried dough, soda, water and a variety of baked goods.
Children attending the concert can also enjoy several games on the Common, including the Noodle Smash, Wheel of Fortune and Egg Game. They will also have the chance to select a lollipop for an opportunity to win a prize.
The Friends of the Townsend Library supports the Townsend Public Library by purchasing passes to museums and local attractions, funding guest speakers and performers, and providing materials and resources not covered by the town budget.
Under the direction of Tom Sousa, the Townsend Military Band will perform from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m.
